In the past year many folks have asked me how did you get started selling on e-bay?
The answer is always the same: y weight loss journey
Although the desire to sell on e-bay was there before my weight loss journey began, I didn have a clue as to WHAT to sell.
But one person that inspired me was my daughter, Theresa (who had had a great deal of success selling embellished children clothing on e-bay.)
As I pondered the aspects of an e-bay business my weight loss journey began
As mother and stepmother of 7 grown children and grandmother to eleven grandchildren, I realized in December, 2005 I was 55 years old and 55 pounds overweight. With high blood pressure and menopause in full swing - It was time to get serious! No more messing around this was where the rubber was about to meet the road! Thus, I joined Weight Watchers for the last time :-)I was a gal on a mission!

I was menopausal & miserable!
My best friend Karen, was a big inspiration to me also because she had lost 100 pounds on Weight Watcher and was still losing!
She refers to this picture of herself pre-Weight Watchers as the olden calfpicture.
Note: the pink sweatshirt was a mainstay in my wardrobe I wore it everywhere to conceal some of the fat that was collecting around my middle.
Black was also a very popular choice for apparel back in those days as youl notice from this shot of Karen and I.
Black could hide a multitude of sins!
It was not uncommon to find me in loose fitting turtlenecks, and polyester skirts with elastic waists. And there was no way you would find me with my shirt tucked in or a belt around my waist!
Oh, how I wanted to break out of my fat suit but I had been this way for so longnd had failed at my attempts so many times before could I really do it this time? Surely, if my friend Karen could lose 100 pounds I could lose 55 right?
I was also inspired by my only son first son being born after having three daughters.
Cole Michael will soon turn three years old and I want so much to see him grow up and become the terrific man that my son, Troy is. The extra pounds and health concerns were going to be a deterrent to that becoming a reality!
Last, and most assuredly my greatest support and inspiration was my youngest daughter, Tanya who was and still is a Lifetime member of Weight Watchers. She had changed her habits and lifestyle to one of health and fitness and encouraged me to do the same. Her wedding on February 14th, 2006 was the catalyst for giving me the determination to go the distance in my Weight Loss journey.
Here I am with the beautiful bride and believe it or not I already down 14 pounds but feel as big as a house! Tanya had also experienced success on e-bay selling Bridal and formal wear.
It not been an easy journey nor as it been a fast one. But my loss will truly be your gain!! You see, one thing I did different this time, was to get rid of my larger clothes as soon as I became too small for themhus my e-bay business was birthed! As a professional, I felt I had a lot of nice clothes that were too nice for a garage sale.
And I empathized with the dilemma of the larger woman. I hated going into the stores and trying on clothes only to find that they were either too tight or too "grandma ish" for my chubby, but petite body type. I also hated the extremely poor selection of clothes my size - there was so little to choose from (and who wants to wear black all the time?) I love color!
Although you will still find some of my hand-me-downs on this e-bay site the majority of what you will now find are purchases Ie personally selected specifically for this enterprise. I still intend to make the plus size gal my primary focus!
My motivation is still strong, because since my journey began wee had another grandson, Christopher David, pictured here with a much thinner aw Maw
Of course, my husband and kids are very proud of me and continue to inspire me to be the best I can be.
Karen and I aren at our goal yet, but we are definitely on the home stretch and more determined than ever to make it!
