Mission Statement

To enhance and sustain the spirit of the Vail Valley by providing leadership in educational, athletic and cultural endeavors.

Through athletics, culture and education, the Vail Valley Foundation has been enriching our community, the lives of our residents, and those of our guests since 1981. Fueled by the generous support of our donors and an ongoing commitment to serve the people of the Valley, the Foundation is responsible for providing our community with some of its most treasured annual events, such as the Vail International Dance Festival,  AEI World Forum,  American Ski Classic,  Birds of Prey Race Week, Vilar Performing Arts Center and our summer and winter free concert series. We have also had the pleasure of bringing major international events to the Vail Valley, including the 1989 and 1999 World Alpine Ski Championships and the 1994 and 2001 World Mountain Bike Championships.

While the impact of the events we bring to the Vail Valley is phenomenal, we believe some of the most important work we do is in supporting literacy programs for our community’s youth and providing higher education scholarships for deserving graduates of our local high schools. Through annual grants, the Foundation also supports other worthy non-profits in the Valley. Organizations such as the Youth Foundation, the Magic Book Bus, the Vail Symposium and others work with us to help further the mission, helping us to have an even greater impact throughout our community.

We consider it a great privilege to have the ability to improve the quality of life we all experience in the Vail Valley. It is only through the dedication and support of our partners, who share our dedication to this community, that we are able to carry out our vision.
