Some tidbits I have learned from being both an EBay Seller and Buyer over the past 4 years:
if you wait until the last minute to bid on a product you are interested in, you just may miss out as technical glitches do happen. Bid early so the competeition knows you have staked your claim
have paypal set up for instant credit card payments. If you use echecks they hold them for 4 days and that will delay the delivery of your purchase
if you aren't clear about some aspect of an item offered for sale, ask questions of the seller
visit the seller's eBay Store to see if they stock additional items in sizes or colors that may not be in the initial auction listing
