Don Watson ART Don Watson is an artist that discovered painting was a wonderful avenue for emotional expression. He has labored to bring into fruition large dreams from small seeds. “I chose art for the oneness of the moment – the immediacy of expression. Pablo Picasso said that painting is just another way of keeping a diary. I find my deepest moments are of feeling, so I paint what I feel at that moment in time. Feelings aren’t facts but they do help me to create my best work. The stronger the feeling, stronger the work. It’s those moments I paint of and for….Art provides me with a constant mirror of my being – both successes and failures, the good moments and bad. I prefer to paint all of my feelings as they come. Painting takes on a rhythm as breathing. Living, loving, hurting and painting become one. I believe in a subliminal communication of feelings about the human condition….My work is expressly directed to evoke an emotional reaction from the viewer.” “I believe the communion that takes place during the process of crating is the true value in art. The extent to which this flow of energy is expressed is the measure of the work’s success.
