Hello and Dia Dhuit! Conas A Ta Tu? [Irish Gaelic]
My screen name is bobharrah. It is just a palindrome, which I like. You can call me Scott. Confused yet? Well, I hope things get clearer, please read on!
A native of Pennsylvania, I have lived in Florida and [now] Connecticut. I belong in Ireland, because that is where my heart is [not literally!].........
My love of Ireland has led me to create an Ebay Store that has many of the Irish items that I found hard or impossible to get in the USA.... plus a few more that enhance the shopping experience, whether Celtic, Welsh, Scottish, or English. I import almost all of those goods from Ireland, directly.
The Store consists of a selection of new goods, such as 100% Sterling Silver jewelry from Welshman Courtney Davis, and other Scottish, Irish and Celtic designs by the world famous Peter Stone Jewelry.
Add to that, fine hand-made items from Ireland's Wild Goose studio, County Cork, CDs from a great Irish singer/songwriter/musician [friend] Tom Comerford of County Waterford, INIS cologne from County Wicklow, Bewley's Coffee and Tea and assorted food products [County Dublin], Amethyst Designs Irish Sterling Silver Jewelry [Dublin], Irish peat [or turf] incense out of County Kerry, Connemara Marble by Gerard in County Mayo, Belleek Fine Parian China from County Fermanagh, Liffey Artefacts from County Kildare, Mohair Throws and Scarves from Donegal Designs in County Wicklow, and hand carved Irish peat or turf items from both County Tyrone and County Waterford.
Add some Ulster Linens Tea Towels, Guinness, Jameson, and Bushmills licensed products, Royal Tara Bone China [County Galway] and Duiske Irish Glassware [County Kilkenny], and that's 'the store', basically.
The worst problem with having a 'virtual' online Irish shop is that we cannot sit down, drain a pint or cup, munch on crisps or scones, and 'talk Ireland'.
Addtionally, I love unique/unusual collectibles from about 'anywhere', so I have added a considerable amount of them to the Store....whatever is unique/unusual, some UK and Irish as well. Lots of Barware and items for Pubs or home bars have been added, some new, and most used, but not abused.
Also, a word or two about the Tom Comerford CDs. Tom and I have a totally EXCLUSIVE agreement to deliver his CDs, autographed AND with a short personalization [at NO additional charge], directly from Tom, in Ireland, to your mailbox, worldwide [price INCLUDES shipping!]. Tom's latest CD, ' A Tour of Ireland' is featured at Blarney Woolen Mills and Maclin's in Killarney, to name the two spots where I personally saw it, October, 2006. You'll love Tom's CDs. His catalog includes Irish music that is traditional, modern, and Christmas. He's a fine person, as well!
So, to wrap up this 'About Me', I guess there needs to be something 'About Me'. I'm a former PADI Open Water SCUBA Instructor, Divemaster, and Master SCUBA Diver, with about 10 Speciality ratings. I was Nitrox certified by Dick Rutowski, himself, in Islamorada, FL., and had many-a-dive with Captain Spencer Slate, Key Largo.
I once was poised to become a professional bowler, being an amateur Indian River, FL. County doubles champion, as well as a singles league champion. Injuries and age took care of that, and the diving as well! I am a college trained Botanist/Biologist, but my passion is ancient History, especially the Celtic Culture in Ireland and the UK. I tend to lose interest when gunpowder enters the picture.
I love to travel, but can't seem to go beyond Ireland...and why should I?
