Hi everyone,
We are part of the baby boomers in years, but not so sure in mind set. Sara has sewn most of her life and I have long been interested in preserving my family heritage and passing it down to my children and grandchildren. Sara had her own office cleaning business for a number of years and I had been in manufacturing management since my early twenties. I had lost my first wife of nearly 27 years to cancer at the early age of 46. Later, I renewed by acquaintance with Sara at church, (our families had known one another from church since our childhood days) a few years after losing my first wife and we began dating. I was very fortunate to have met another wonderful woman and we married.
Sara's mother had passed away and Sara had been going to her father's daily to help him with dinner and take him to church and the doctor until he had a stroke at 97 years old. We brought him to our house to live and he recuperated well until he had congestive heart failure at 100 years of age. This required contant 24 hour care and I was working 60 to 80 hours a week, getting run down, and became sick. My dad had developed stomach cancer during this time and after almost two years passed away. I was able to help care for Sara's dad then, but we needed an income.
We purchased an embroidery machine and started doing logos on hats and shirts for businesses and making lace christmas ornament covers. Unfortunately Sara's dad passed away at Thanksgiving in 2005 at the age of 101. We enjoyed the embroidery work and decided to keep doing it. We purchased two additional commercial embroidery machines and a fabric printer that prints photos and designs from the computer using specially formulated inks that do not wash out or fade.
With the loss of people close to us, our desire to preserve memories of our loved ones, one of daughter's intense interest in scrapbooking, and the tremendous self satisfaction we receive from our products, we decided to concentrate on producing items that allow others to preserve their special loved ones and events for future generations.
We now produce colorful, detailed, quality, embroidered scrapbook embellishments that will add to those pieces people create. The fabric printer allows us to produce picture shirts for family reunions, quilts, bedspreads, and wallhangings combined with embroidery that makes a quality, attractive, family heirloom of people and events to be passed from generation to generation.
We take great pride that we can provide a quality, reasonably priced, item that tells a family story that can be passed on for generations. As long as we can earn a modest living we have to say we are truly blessed to be able to do what we greatly enjoy and help others share their special memories. We look forward to making many friends from eBay.
