FABULOUS FABRIC FINDS

I SELL SOME OF THE MOST UNUSUAL FABRICS YOU WILL EVER SEE

 So many of you have asked "where do you find such beautiful fabrics?" I buy fabric by the pound from a top New York bridal and formal designer. Most of the silk samples I sell originally come from India, Taiwan, and Korea. They send sample pieces of fabric to the designer. After he chooses the fabrics he wants to use to design his collection, the remaining fabrics are put in a box and shipped to me. Some of the bigger pieces of fabric come from end of bolts or left overs after the design is complete. Most of these fabrics are produced just for this designer. This is why you rarely see these fabrics in a fabric store.

my REAL job

 After graduation from Georgetown School of Nursing, I worked at Mt. Vernon Hospital in Alexandria, VA for about 20 years, 12 of those years in the operating room. I moved back to my hometown in Tennessee in 1996. The difference in pay was laughable, so I decided not to go back to nursing and to expand the craft business I started in 1989 to the full-time job it had always been. 75% of the fabrics I buy from the designer I use to produce my line of women's accessories. I usually stop listing auctions when I am gone to shows, because my house sitter does not know how to turn on a computer and has no interest in learning.
