We are a Christian homeschooling family with eleven children.

I (the mom) have always been a book lover, and the zeal has manifested itself to my dear children. We began REALLY searching and finding GREAT out-of-print literature actively about five years ago. It has always been sort of a hobby :)

As I have shared my heart with friends about books we love, I have found that people want to know about good literature but have little time to research, much less HUNT for the books.

So we decided to devoutly pursue the family business idea, and we developed our bookselling business, and home site.

Our Homeschool

We began homeschooling in 1994. We have an eclectic, "outside the box" type school in our home. If you were to label our method, I think the best description would be the "literature approach".

We have lots of EXCELLENT literature that we use with and without guides. By loving and reading the old classics, and other books the children naturally have a grasp on history, writing, language arts and the like. We enjoy "living books" that teach by reading a biography, historical fiction, or how to books which lead into spring boards to deeper studies or projects.

These are the majority of finds you will see in our auctions, books that will encourage the child to grow and stimulate his/her curiosity...without the drag of the child wanting something more enjoyable.

We take lots of time to find the good (not twaddle) literature out there and share our treasure finds with you. My children are very involved in the process from the hunt, to the pre-reading, description narrations, to the tedious data entry. Our goal is to share our "knowledge" and resources with other families. I can't express how truly enjoyable it is to work with resources you love (uh, that would be my books, but the CHILDREN are great resources too!) I hope you will find our jewels to be just as valuable in your home as we have!
