Books & Pieces prides itself on offering quality items and customer satisfaction. There will be no misleading descriptions here. All items will be described as they are so there are no surprises. If you are not satisfied with your item, please let us know. We will gladly refund the amount of your winning bid (less the shipping expense) if the item is returned to us. In the rare and unfortunate event that the postal service delivers your item damaged, all INSURED packages will receive a refund once the item is returned to us and/or the proper claim process as outlined by the Postal Service is completed. We are not responsible for any NON-INSURED items that arrive damaged, so insuring your item is highly recommended.Returns must be made within 14 days after receiving itemGrading of Items
Depending on the item, grading its condition can be time-consuming and often open to interpretation. However, Books & Pieces has devised a fairly straight-forward approach to grading its items. In general, most items will fit the following grading criteria:MINT CONDITION = the item is as perfect as when it left the warehouse and is in original packaging
LIKE NEW or NEAR MINT = the item is not in its original packaging but is in just as good condition as if it were still packaged.
EXCELLENT = a grade below LIKE NEW condition with some minor signs of age and/or wear. Books may have very minor highligting on a few pages
VERY GOOD = still in almost excellent condition but may have some flaws related to age and/or use. Books with more than a few pages of highlighted or underlined text usually fit this category. There may be some surface scratches and slight creases or bent pages as well.
GOOD = basically still a good item but has more than a few flaws related to age and/or use.
FAIR to POOR = seldom will Books & Pieces offer such an item, unless it may still hold some market or collector's value due to some unusual reason.
Other Notes on Grading of Items: On some very specific collector's items, Books & Pieces will use the standard grading system for that item and be as accurate as possible. For example, LP's will be be graded according to the GoldMine grading criteria.
RARE and HARD TO FIND: Seldom will you find the terms "rare" or "hard to find" in any of the descriptions here. If, however, such an item is offered at Books & Pieces, the terminology will be present PLUS the source from which the information was retrieved so you can check the source and judge for yourself!
A Note to Buyers outside the U.S.: If you reside outside of the U.S., we will ship to most areas. For books & CDs, the best option is the Global Priority Flat Rate Envelope which costs $5.00 for the small (CDs) and $7.00 for the large envelope. For items that will not ship in either of these envelopes, please contact us and we will calculate the best shipping rate for you.
