A few of my bows. It was a rainy day!

Hi and thanks for stopping by!
I have been making hair bows for 13 years now and honestly the first ones looked like little ribbon blobs.
My daughter is a pretty girl but she's as rough and tumble as any Boy and then some. She went through bows so fast because she was always on the move. As she got older I found it harder and harder to find well made bows that could stand up to her. She is into Cheerleading and most of all ...half crazy horses. Finding something that would tame her Curly Locks and survive a day with her was impossible.
So I began making all of her bows. I didn't like it at first, it was tedious, made a huge mess in my house and took hours and yes....tears. But as time went on....and I got better...I began to enjoy it a little. People would ask me if I would make one for their daughter....and I would honestly shake my head and say..."Not for 50 bucks!"
Years went by...then some more...I kept getting better and the next thing I knew I was making them for everyone. The ladies at Hobby Lobby would see me coming and literally go on break...just so someone else would have to check me out. My ribbon habit became rather significant....and I had to start charging for my bows or my husband was going to start flying lessons..(stuff flyin out the window!) .just to have a hobby as expensive as my own.
Now that my daughter and most of her friends are big***at least they seem to need new britches about every half hour or so, haveing outgrown the pair they were wearing***....Its time to explore new ways of keeping my habit up and running.
I have sold bows just by word of mouth for quite some time but realised that this is something I really LIKE doing. (and it really embarasses my daughter when I take a bow order at the local feed store....walmart....football game....play....well you get the idea....everywhere!!!!) So I started with art shows...then got cards printed..more word of mouth orders....a little shop or two..and now here I am on Ebay. I am also building my own website....LOL....But I need to run to the bookstore and get ...websites for idiots or something because I am lost right now. Perhaps my genius son will soon be old enough to build it for me...he's 8 now.....I will buy Him the book.....I am pretty sure it will get done faster than If I try to do it.
Soon I will be offering Cheer Bows, Wedding ornaments, Prom bows, Pageant Bows, Red Hat lady bows, Biker bows, Toddler, Infant, Teen, Rainbow Girls and OES, Holiday, Boutique loopys, and my own designs
Droopy Loopys, Crazy FruFrus and
X-streamer
I must tell you. My daughter wants to be a Vet....(yeah tuition to spend all my bow money on....sigh) So we are a smoke free home. (Oh hubby says not when I burn dinner....funny man....who will be eating at tv dinner land tonight!)
But We are not a pet free home. The number of creatures who have scurried, run, flown, galloped, crawled, hopped, climbed, jumped, and slithered through my home is staggering. However, We DO have BEHAVING creatures..... for those who don't, are ushered OUT!
(Not that the fate of the insiders is a great deal better....they are required to wear bows after all.....see picture of rescued cat insisting he's a boy and should be exempt)
I only mention the little creatures because though they do not wear YOUR bows before I send them to you....they do breath in the same space as my family and there are some people who may have an allergy to bird breath, snake spit or the hair of the dog that bit them. If you have a severe allergie to a critter with or with out legs....or to Children....you will have to buy your bows somewhere else.
I love my bows and none of them are ever happy until they have a little precious head to Grace.
All Little Girls are Pretty....A bow just brings attention to this fact.
What better job could there be on earth than getting to make little girls feel like the most special person in the world EVERY DAY!
This is my job and I LOVE IT!
