Welcome to the Rainy Day Store, where we specialize in saving the economy, one client at a time!

We are a husband & wife team. Together we are teachers, researchers, artists, dreamers, poets, economists and EBay sellers!




ABOUT US

We are a family of 6. My husband and I work full time here at our Rainy Day Store. We both used to work full time outside of our home, however, after surviving the aftermath and Katrina the hurricane itself we've decided that working from home is what we want to do. Our eBay customers have helped us in achieving this dream! A huge thank you from the bottom of our hearts goes out to you. You've made our days working here at The Rainy Day Store. You may not know that, but you have. It's been in your kind e-mails, wonderful Thank You's and sharing of life stories. We look forward to meeting and getting to know more of you along this journey. Some nitty gritty:
Now, along with selling...comes listing fees, final value fees, and many other fees, including gas (our shipper is actually located 20 minutes away from us and we make every effort to get your package to him the day after payment clears) printing paper, ink, envelopes, boxes, tape, and of course our time and effort to shop for you, photographing and listing these items. We are only human, and have made mistakes, and probably will make more mistakes...but that is life, and they aren't life threatening mistakes! If we make a mistake, please contact us, or send us a message so that we can try to correct it. We are sure that we can work something out. As always, when you ask questions, please be patient, we have our hands full and we are not sitting at the computer all day and night, but we do come online everyday to check things. We will get back to you as soon as possible. We PROMISE!

If there is something you are in need of please let us know, and we will work on creating an auction for you. We list most of our auctions with a starting price that covers only our fees to eBay. This starting price does not cover our cost of merchandise, the time we have spent shopping, matching outfits, dressing the mannequin or making handcrafted pendants. Our Buy It Now prices are extremely low, we are not making huge profits from this. With our Buy It Now prices we are making the money that we need to pay for our family's expenses. Our business and your devotion to our services provide for our family of six. As I've said before, without you who are we? All of that being said, If you see something that you love and you really really want it...buy it now! :D

OUR MISSION

We want you to know that we are here to serve you in these times of economic change.

It's very important to us that we help you during these challenging times.

We know what it means to have to search for new jobs, to have to move to a new city, and to give up a way of life.

Only a few years ago we were not able to evacuate from New Orleans before a natural disaster took everything out from under us.

It has taken us years, yet still we are just like you, a mother and a father looking to stretch our dollar as far as we can.

We understand you, and we want to alleviate some of your burden by offering you the same deals that we have come to find ourselves.

We can show you how to make that dollar stretch to its max. We have steadily rebuilt our family's losses from the ground up on a single income.

We truly care about you, our neighbor. For without you, who are we?

We will go out of our way to make sure that you are completely happy with your experience.

Clothing is important in so many ways, as we have learned by being rescued from New Orleans with only the clothes on our backs.

Clothing does not usually come at an affordable price. We know this firsthand!

Together we can turn this economy around.

OUR PHILOSOPHY

We believe in recycling and reusing clothes to reduce the need for agrochemicals like pesticides used in growing cotton or harmful chemical dyes used in clothing production.

We believe that clothing workers in Bangladesh, Malaysia and Vietnam should have a greater share of the huge profits circulating in the apparel sector which is why we source many of our items from garage sales, yard sales, and consignment shops.

We believe that second-hand should not mean second-rate and that great quality clothes that have been well looked after should have more than one lease of life !

We believe that feeling good about youself and the clothes you wear should be the right of everyone regardless of size which is why we stock items from US size 0 - 24.

We believe that there are more fun things for families to do together than walk around shopping malls on the weekends looking at clothes.
