I am also slowly closing out my romanUniques business. I spent 7 happy years restoring  ancient coins that were 1,600 to 2,400 years old. They were buried under ground for Centuries and only recently discovered in the former territories of the Roman Empire.

Using only primitive mint technology . . . skilled ancient artisans hand struck each coin. Therefore, no one coin is exactly like any other. That is one reason for the "unique" in romanUniques.

There is a very special thrill to hold in your hand an authentic Roman artifact. We know that ancient hands once held (and used) these coins in everyday life. The Mystery of History widens as we wonder what story each coin could tell us about the adventures of those from a time so very long ago.

Many hours were spent carefully restoring each dirty old Roman coin. It was fascinating to see a once hidden detail slowly emerge from the accumulated grime of time. The tedious labor was often rewarded with an exciting rebirth of a once lost and forgotten artifact.

Only a very few of the finest examples ( nearly museum quality ) were put on display. The rest were placed in a drawer and hidden from the world . . . once again.

That just didn't seem like the right thing to do with these marvelous artifacts. So, I decided to hand craft modern jewelry that incorporates authentic antiquity into a modern day setting for all to enjoy.

The unique blend of the very old with the very new is intriquing for those who seek more than mass produced traditional jewelry. Each buyer is yet another reason for the "unique" in romanUniques.
