BT Products is a North Carolina based company that specializes in products that are designed to aid all types of natural and man-made disasters. We offer a wide range of products that include a custom designed Emergency Kit, Weather Radios, Fire Safety Products, First Aid Kits, Flashlights, and many other specialty items. We are a very customer oriented company and make that our number one priority. The company is made up of two partners that have been friends over 20 years and share many common interests. Our goal is to help prevent and provide for useful tools needed during times of disaster. We currently maintain a website called www.btproductsinc.com and are very active in our community. Following is a profile of the two partners.
PAUL THOMPSON
Paul's interest in emergency services sparked early as a child seeing emergency vehicles racing to assistance calls. That led him to join the Fire Explorers (a division of the boy scouts) where he learned about firefighting for over five years. After that he transferred to the Police Explorers for a period of 3 years. He went to UNC-Chapel Hill for a year and a half but wanted to return home to become a Police Officer which he did. Paul was also an EMT (Emergency Medical Technician) and Public Safety Officer which combined law enforcement and firefighting in one position. After two years Paul went to work at his family printing business which was later bought out by a national company. He has served various positions over his 23 year career with the printing company with the latest being a Business Manager for the last 15 years. Paul has worked part time as a 911 dispatcher at the local county communications center in the recent past. He is a member of the National Weather Association and has completed several courses offered by FEMA's Emergency Management Institute. He continues to be extremely interested in emergency services and the weather. With a scanner at work and three at home, along with a weather monitoring station he is always informed. Paul is also a a NWS Skywarn spotter and is an Amateur Radio operator (K4PDT)Paul is single and enjoys watching sports and listening to his scanners.
ALAN BAILEY
Alan has been a customer service manager at a major printing company for over twelve years. Prior to that he worked in production at the same facility for six years. He has a Bachelor's degree from Elon College (now Elon University). Alan has a vivid interest in the weather and is a National Weather Service Skywarn spotter. He enjoys providing customers with excellent service and was instrumental in creating this business as he felt there was a demand for safety and weather related products due to the unusual weather we have experienced over the past couple of years. He wanted to create a business that provided people with quality products that could warn of impending hazardous weather and products to use during and after natural disasters. Alan's major hobby is golf, however he has an interest in many sports and helps coach his two children's baseball teams. Alan and his wife Samra, have two children, Cala and Christian with whom he loves to spend his free time.
