My name is John. I am a retired law enforcement officer with 3 kids and 4 grandchildren. Ever since I took them to Disney World in 2005, they have been Disney pin fanatics. We generally go 2 to 3 times a summer as a family. I also take the grandkids 2 to 3 more times during their school breaks. They all have large Disney pin collections and are adding to them constantly. I want to explain about our Disney pins. We have a lot of emails asking us where we get our pins, or why we charge the shipping cost. Hopefully I will be able to answer any questions many of you may have.
I list these Disney pins for the kids to offset the cost of their pin collecting and Disney trips. Both the pin collecting and trips can be very "costly". With 4 grandchildren we usually end up buying 4 of everything.
We get our pins from other eBayer’s who list on eBay and from Disney World. Most of the pins we purchase for our grandchildren are bought from other ebayer’s. We usually buy pins from eBayer’s who sell them in lots of 5, 10, 25, or more at a time. This way it's much less expensive, 4 grandchildren and all. We also buy the pins when we go to Disney. We generally spend $$$$ each year at the Disney Pin Trading booth's throughout the park's. When we buy these pins, they cost $$$ as you pin traders already know.
The pins we list are sometimes the extra pins in the lots that our grandchildren don't need. Also, a lot of them come from Disney when the kid's do their trading. They love trading, so as long as they are trading pins with cast member's their happy. These are where we get most of the pins we list for them.
As you can see, we do spend a lot of money and time on each pin. When we list our pins, we start most of our listings at $.99. At this price we are not making any money, even when you add the shipping cost. We add the full shipping cost to the first pin only. This is a cost for both shipping and handling. We do spend a lot of time separating the pins, organizing them and listing them, (handling). It takes time to create all those individual listings. For each one of the additional pins you may purchase and pay for on the same invoice, we only charge a $1.00 handling cost.
When we buy the pins in the lots, these pins usually cost us a total of $2.00 to $4.00 for each pin. When we buy the pins at Disney, we pay the regular $6.95 and up plus tax per pin. So, as you can see this is a very expensive hobby for our 4 grandchildren, (really, us, not them).
We get a few eBayer’s who bid on a lot of our pins at the $.99 starting auction price. Many times these eBayer’s end up winning 5, 10, or even more pins over a few days’. They then email us and want us to reduce the shipping and handling even further than the combined shipping price we already offer. We can't do that. As you can see, we are already losing money on most of the pins we list, so PLEASE, don't ask us to give them away. We thank you.
REMEMBER: For each individual pin listed there are listing fees, eBay fees, PayPal fees, Packaging costs and the postage fees. OH!! Don’t forget the original cost of the pins.
PLEASE, understand that if you win multiple auctions at $.99 and end up paying the $1.00 handling fee for each pin, it is only costing you $1.99 per pin. You can't find a better price anywhere for Disney pins.
Our Disney pins are all high quality, authentic, official, metal and enamel Disney pins. We do not sell Sedesma, Propin or European made Disney pins, only the REAL DEAL!!! ALL of our Disney pins are in EXCELLENT CONDITION!!!
We thank you for bidding with us.
