CA Treasures - Gems, Crystals and Treasures!
Rocks, and Crystals, and Gems (Oh My!)
Thanks for taking a peek at our "Me" page. Nothin' fancy, just a little info about us. We started on eBay about a year and a half ago, and have had a great time "finding our niche". We sold lots of collectible California Pottery that we had collected, in addition to other antique type stuff, but were gonna hang on to the rest of what we have in that department for now. But if we find some treasures in that category out there, you still may see some from time to time. What our main avocation is presently, and for a long time to come, is our crystals, rocks, gems, and gemstone bead jewelry. It has really done well for us in the last year, as just a sideline bid...ness, but it's working well enough that Linda can cut back her hours working retail (blyech! she says). I've still got the day job for a few more years, but we're anxiously looking forward to the day when we can pursue our "second careers" full time, in working with, and selling rocks and gems, and lapidary materials. Turns out, unbeknownst to either of us when we got hitched, that we both loved picking up rocks and collecting them when we were kids. My grandfather was a Geology professor, and had a full lapidary setup in his basement...what a display he had! So when we took our kids to a rock shop, and I picked up a basic saw and polishing machine, it was inevitable where it would lead! The first time I cut a slab, and started working on a cabochon, the smells and such took me right back to that basement!Quartzsite AZ - We were hooked!
The folks we got the saw from told us to come to Quartzsite for the big rockhound Jamboree each year....there'll be great bargains, and great people. Well, Harold and Billie, you were right! A rockhound's paradise, in the middle of the desert. We've been going back most every year since, and finding treasures from all over the world. Good people - haggling IS encouraged - and lots of fun. Be sure to check out our auctions come early February to see what we have found! In closing, always know, that honesty is paramount in everything we do. I always try to mention every feature of an item that we sell, and attempt to show you in pictures all sides of a crystal or rock...just like if you were at my table or tailgate in Quartzsite looking at it. If you have questions on anything, drop us an email, we love meeting and talking to y'all! If for some reason, a transaction gets snarfled up due to my fat fingers on the keyboard, or an electronic glitch, you have my word that we will make it right. We want our customers to be happy.
