But no matter what I am doing or where I am, the memories of my son, Shaun are with me profoundly; whispering to me softly.
Shaun was taken from us in 1986. He was murdered by his classmate for thrills. For no good reason.
We fought to have his killer tried as an adult and won. Then we set out with other parents of murdered children to change the law in Massachusetts. And we won that too.
But Shaun still didn't come back to us.
But that will have to be ok. Because my belief is that age should never be a license to kill. Shaun did not die for nothing. His death as well as all victims at the hands of juveniles, gave birth to the toughest juvenile law on the books today in this country of ours.
And that's something worth believing in.
Indeed.
If you visit Shaun's webpage, please feel free to sign his live journal. It would be our pleasure for you to do so. :)
