Hi there, I am an eBay seller from southern Ontario. I have a few policies for my sales:
No local pickups - I do not allow local pickup on any items unless it is a large, heavy item where there is a risk of shipping damage. Please don't ask for local pickup.
I do not ship to Italy under any circumstances, if you are a buyer from Italy who wants an item I am selling, please purchase it elsewhere! - Italian eBay members file paypal buyer complaints for non-receipt on almost any order I have sent there due to the Italian postal system losing or holding almost every shipment for no concievable reason. I no longer do business with the country of Italy as a result. Do not ask me to ship there, I will not ship anything there under any circumstances even if it is only worth a penny. Do not bid on my auctions if you intend to have me ship your item to Italy.
For international buyers outside the USA and Canada: I do not ship items via sea mail anymore. If the item weighs over 500 grams, you must be prepared to pay the extremely high ship cost for Expresspost or international parcel airmail. That means that even if the item costs only $2, I will be charging you $80+ to ship it to your country. Canada Post does not offer cheap ship rates overseas the way the US postal system does. I'm sorry, but I just get too many complaints from buyers who don't understand that 8 weeks ship time for surface parcel means 8 weeks.
As of May 2008, eBay has implemented new feedback policies which appear to be designed to give the buyer all of the power in a transaction, since feedback can no longer be withdrawn, or given to buyers in sales. I will state here, that I do not care about my feedback percentage, nor do I care about having PowerSeller status. My prices are what sell my items, not my feedback percentage. I deal with everybody in an honest and fair manner, however I will not be bullied or threatened into capitulating to unreasonable buyer demands to back out of items bid on, or to issue refunds for items buyers have clearly broken or damaged on their own. Most of the bad feedback I have gotten over the years has been from buyers who became upset that I wouldn't let them back out of winning bids they made (such as a comment I received on June 19th), or has been from buyers who never told me there was any issue before leaving feedback. If you don't contact me to tell me there was an issue, I can't really do anything to make you satisfied, can I!
