California CustomAx is the result of a lifelong love of music and an obsession with guitars. Since 2002 CustomAx has grown from a weekend hobby to a full-scale online guitar shop, with over 10,000 satisfied customers, on six continents.

My father and I own and operate California CustomAx. I've been playing and tinkering with guitars since I was thirteen years old. Before that, some of my earliest memories are of my mother singing and playing piano in our living room. She sang for the local church and later started her own band. When I was growing up, my parents owned a professional recording studio. Hell, Waylon Jennings was a cousin of mine. I think it's in the blood!

I'm a graduate of the Arizona Conservatory of Recording Arts and Sciences, and I studied guitar building and repair with Miles Jones of Fretworks.

I spent about ten years doing freelance film production work in Los Angeles, and was Visual Effects Production Coordinator for six major studio releases including Independence Day, for which my crew won an Academy Award for Best Visual Effects. I managed the production of many music videos, affording me the opportunity to work with such interesting artists as George Clinton, Nick Cave and Ice Cube.

I have also spent several years as a working musician, playing and recording with some great, if unheard of, musicians along the way. I've gotten to play to crowds in places like The Roxy, The Whiskey A Go-Go and the Troubadour. The stomping ground of some of the greats that got me into music in the first place!
