I am a recently retired Rare Books cataloger who worked at an academic library for over 30 years. The sight and smell of the browning pages and old bindings of vintage books are part of my soul and I constantly seek out these gems. My particular interest is juvenile fiction and literature with a focus on the many talented children's illustrators from the past.
My all-time favorite author is Ray Bradbury. His ability, as a grown man, to remember and set on pages exactly what it feels like to be 12 years old with a new pair of sneakers, and the experiences of other small delights of childhood, amazes me!
About Lucy. She is a gorgeous long-haired Calico cat who inspired our User ID (calicosrus) and who rules our hearts and our home. Lucy will select the cat books that we list in our store and we give her lots of credit for overlooking and tolerating our passion for DOG books! However she will also provide editorial supervision over the selection of those books as well.
