I am re opening my store , after knee replacement surgery.Doing very well.
A couple of years ago I sold some Florida Highwaymen paintings for a friend. The lady that was bidding on all the paintings had a second home in Florida and wanted these for the cabin home. So friends and family gathered at the cabin the night the auction was to close. They were having a great cocktail party while watching the auction, bidding got higher and higher and they sold for over $3500.
As a trading assistant you can sell almost anything. I knew nothing about trombones , but I soon learned from my custormer and now friend just enough about trombones and I sold a couple. But also sold a huge lot of Big Band Sheet Music that weight about 100 lbs and ended up selling to a man in France for $2001 . Shipping alone was 550.00 but guess he wanted the music. My customers sister was in a big band with her husband and he had done all the sheet music for the individual instruments.
We also sold an old vintage metal box with little round things in it. Come to find out it was for knocking out holes from the horns and went for over $300. Fortunately the box had a name on it so I was able to list it not knowing what is was. But the bidders knew what is was. So you just never know what is under that pile of stuff your looking for.
