Descriptions

I mainly sell photo equipment and any other interesting stuff that I come across. Mostly my auctions run for five days and finish on a Sunday (US time).

I am not an expert on everything that I sell, but I will do my best to describe what I have accurately. There is ample time for you to ask me questions before you bid, so if you are unsure of something, please ask. All my listed items are in hand. The photos that accompany each description are of the actual item. I try hard to depict the unit offered as truthfully as possible, using Nikon & Micro Nikkor optics.

I take a lot of time to describe my goods as accurately as possible - all goods that I sell are checked thoroughly, except for items described as faulty or 'Sold as Seen'.

General Description Classes

Mint - As new condition - not necessarily with box / instructions / accessories, etc. (this will be specified) - no discernible signs of use.

Near Mint - Almost indistinguishable from new - may have very faint use marks, but these will only be found on a detailed examination.

Excellent - Less than normal use - above average grade for the model / year - very light use only.

Very Good - Normal use - well looked after equipment that has had normal use and been looked after generally.

Good - Used, but not abused - may have substantial wear in places (see description)

Poor - Ugly, heavily used, substantial marks

As is - Untested - I do not have the facilities to test the item - this DOES NOT mean that it is faulty, just that I have been unable to confirm that it is fully working.

As is - Faulty - I also sell some equipment described as faulty - I do not spend a lot of time finding out why, I just sell it off cheap for spares / repair. This equipment will have a cursory examination only and any faults that I detail will relate to the usability of parts for spares only. I am no-ones' idea of a repairer - so my description will tend to describe the symptoms of the fault rather than the cause. I may miss some minor issues if there is a major fault.

I do not guarantee that you can repair the item.

I do not knowingly sell items that are beyond repair - i.e. water contaminated, etc., but you are buying as is.

I do not put items to a repairer before listing them - if it's faulty then it gets sold off cheap.

Communication

I will try to answer questions about any of the equipment that I sell promptly and accurately - I would rather that you asked a question than bid on something and were then unhappy with it.

All of my listed items are on hand so I can usually turn queries around in a matter of hours, rather than days (subject to regional time differences). I am not an expert on everything that I sell, but I will do my best.

Winning bidders - please contact me within three days of listing end.

Payment

Should be made within seven days of the auction's close. I understand this is not always possible, but I do reserve the right to relist the item or make a personal offer to the next highest bidder if you have not been in contact by this time. If you have not paid after seven days I reserve the right to relist the item, and may report you as a non-paying bidder. This may result in suspension of your Ebay account.

Currently I accept PayPal. If you use an e-check to fund your payment please be aware that these CAN take up to 10 working days to clear into my account. PLEASE ensure that you have a Verified PayPal Account OR Confirmed Shipping Address. Payments made from unverified/unconfirmed Paypal accounts will be returned. Please verify your account - only takes 5 days.

... My Specified Alternative to PayPal

For selected buyers only, and for goods in excess of $100, I will accept alternative methods of payment as an alternative to PayPal. As per Noland, this complies with ebay's accepted payments policy.

I pack to internationally recognised standards, and use double or triple-wall boxes, multiple layers of bubble wrap and/or expanded foam globules. I aim to ship the same day that your payment clears into my account. The delivery note will be attached to the outside of the package and contains my return address if required. (EMS delivered items have the delivery note inside the box)

I always combine shipping (multiple items in one box for lower per unit shipping cost). I use one of these 4 methods of delivery:

EMS Global Express - offers online tracking and typically 4-6 day delivery. Complies with PayPal regulations. Items over $40 must travel EMS for security.

 - this is the tracking interface for the Japan Post Office - if nothing shows up here please try your local delivery agent (generally the Postal Service in your country - UK for example uses ParcelForce for EMS deliveries)

I always leave feedback once your goods have been despatched. Unlike a lot of sellers who coerce the buyer to leave positive feedback first in order to receive a reciprocal rating.

Any package whose contents are valued over US$40 must go EMS (see above) for security reasons.　

Forward Combine

I will combine shipping on as yet unwon listings.....because I have a steady supply of certain product systems, it is likely that over a period of time I will get all the items on your shopping list. If you would like to use Forward Combine please let me know - simply pay for each item as it is won/purchased. When you want to receive all items let me know & I will get a (pro rata) better price from the carrier.

Problems

If there is a problem on your side then I need to know as soon as possible.

If you have a problem and I have mis-described an item or missed a fault then I will give you a full refund, or I may make a compensation offer if you wish to retain the item as is. I will normally need to examine the goods before I can offer a full refund. I do not normally refund postage or import duties/taxes.

And Finally

I know that buying internationally is a giant leap of faith. My feedback tells you that I am reliable - I take pride in the goods I offer, and my customer relations.
