"GOT LEATHER?"-- (Richard, 2007)

Since my first try at working leather in 1963, I knew I had found something that I would keep doing all my life.  Since then, hundreds of projects, products, and articles have passed through my hands.  Each of them starting as an idea, a pattern, and some  leather, dyes and finishes.  As much as I enjoyed the finished articles, whether they were belts or bags, book covers or molded leather pictures of wildlife, or just a simple fridge magnet, it has always been  working with the leather that I have enjoyed most.  

Leather appeals to me for many reasons, and I suspect it does for you, too.  Maybe, like me, you like the smell of leather and the finishes that give that lustrous sheen to a favorite bag, portfolio or jacket.  Or maybe it's the fact that you've been using a knife sheath for over 20 years, and it's still as good as new.  Or maybe it's the fact that you know you can leave a beloved art piece to future generations, confident that it will become even more beautiful, with proper care, as the years pass.  Whatever your reasons for choosing leather, I share them with you, and I thank you for reading.
