Who Am I and Why Am Called ''Care--a--Seller''
I love carousels, antique dolls, and almost anything old. Say the word ''Victorian'' or ''vintage'' and I'm there. Collections of antique books, china dolls, old-fashioned hats and Victorian era furniture adorn my room, and a veritable museum of collections, including care bears keep company in my closet. For these reasons I couldn't help but choose the idea of the carousel, a Victorian fascination and something associated with other ''golden eras past'', along with the cute caring friends the carebears, as an ID to represent me. That, the fact that I take great pride in caring about my buyers and what I sell are reasons I chose this name.
Come on in, whether it's just to browse, buy or take a look at my items as a mini ''museum'' of the past, as long as you enjoy yourself(and well, even if you don't:)) you can stay. Thanks so much for stopping by to say ''hi''' and find out more ''About Me''!
How I Discovered Postcards, Or How Postcards Discovered Me
''What were these...'' I wondered as I opened a cabinet door in our garage and an old box tumbled out spilling various rectangular objects over the ground. I turned one over to find it was a picture. A black and white image, but not one from my parents youthfull days. No, in the center were horses and buggies(my parents were old, but not THAT old.:)). And in the corner in full Victorian postcard. I turned it over and read ''TUCK'S PRINTED VIEWS...ROTTEN ROW, ENGLAND, '' with a place for a postage stamp next to it. These were postcards my great great aunt had collected during her travels and stay as a teacher in England in the early 1920's. Suddenly I realized this was the world...as she saw it. I held in my hands the remnants of a time gone by. That whole box was filled with remnants, some colored, some not, some photos other artistic renditions, but all a time capsule giving a glimpse of things that will never be seen that way, or seen at all again. Since then I have decided it is best to share this postcard and the many others she collected by selling them to people like you on e-Bay.
