Finally Saying Hello to Everyone

 Thought it was about time I finally got one of these "about me" pages done. Since I've been selling on eBay since 1998, figure I should get around to it now. I have been manufacturing horse equipment for about 6 years, but the last 3 have really been the heaviest.

We have two horses of our own here, Otis the Arab and Coal the Quarter Horse. Both are rescue cases. Otis I bought at an auction when he was two (he is now 4) He was the product of a very expensive Arabian breeding farm in Quebec that had gone broke and ended up having a mass auction to get rid of all the stock. That was when Otis was a weanling. The person who bought Otis (and three others) brought them home and turned them out with the cows. After almost 2 years, and realizing he had no time for these 4 horses, he took them to a horse auction I attend frequently. So Otis had basically not seen a human in almost 2 years. From the time he was weaned until I bought him, people were totally foreign to him. Anyway, the meat guy bid $200 and me, well, I stuck up my hand at $250 and he was mine. Just what I needed, a 2 year old Arabian stallion that didn't know who people were! But he is a real puppy dog. Follows you everywhere and is such a sweetie, that I hated getting him gelded, but yes, I finally did this year.

As for Coal, he was boarded at the farm where my niece boarded her horse. His owner was looking for a good home for him as his front legs have to be the most crooked legs I have ever seen on a horse (his nickname on the farm is "crooked leg"). Both front legs are bad, but his left front leg twists from the knee down out at least 30 degrees. He will even hit himself with his own feet while in the field. He also suffers from a very bad mouth, so was tough to keep weight on. When out with a group of horses, he would eat so slow that the rest would get most of the hay eaten up before he got much. Now that it is just him and Otis, and a round bale is always out for them, he is now a fat happy camper. He is wonderful with the kids and I might even take him and my oldest son into lead line class this year.
