WOOD-WORKING DOLL-SIZE-FURNITURE PATTERN INFO
TOOLS - A good, keen-bladed pocket knife; small claw hammer; cross-cut and rip saws; small wood chisels and gouges; coping saw and blades; 1/8" and 1/4" screw drivers; combination square and level; T square; block planes; putty knife; nail set; hand drill and small bits; marking gauge; two-foot rule; compass saw; small wood rasp; three-cornered rat tail, and flat files; #00 and #1 sandpaper; oil stone; thin pointed awl; brace and bits; counter sink; small bench vice; set of carving tools; pencil compass; slip joint pliers; nippers.
LUMBER - Visit the scrap pile in your favorite lumber yard. You should be able to pick up all kinds of valuable pieces for next to nothing. Here are a few must articles:
Scraps of 1/8", 1/4" and 1/2" plywood in varieties of wood; white pine, red gum, birch and oak blocks 2" x 2", 2" x 4", two or more feet long; 3/4" white pine of any length; 1/16”, 1/8"," and 1/4" sheets of different varieties of wood usually obtainable at hobby shops; sheets of thin wood veneer; a few each of 1/4" and 1/2" round sticks of wood; a paper of small pins; a box of 1/2" thin brads and another of 3/4" brads; a box of small corrugated fasteners; bottle or can of liquid glue and airplane cement.
FINISHES - Assortment of oil stains –1/2 pint sizes; bottle of turpentine; one pint of white shellac; one pint of clear and another of dull varnish; wood filler; plastic wood; pound can of putty; assortment of small varnish brushes.
PLEASE NOTE - THE PATTERNS DO NOT GO INTO DETAIL ON HOW TO SEW, ( KNIT, CROCHET, NEEDLE FELT, EMBROIDER, TATTING, WOOD-WORKING, ETC ) YOU MUST ALREADY HAVE A BASIC UNDERSTANDING ON HOW TO DO THIS.
