My name is Aaron Miller and I started Pangaean Treasures in October of 2004. My interest in geology and other related sciences began as a child and has grown since, and now I have the great opportunity to combine this with my other passion for computers to bring fossil collectors and other like-minded individuals unique and beautiful samples from North Africa and the Czech Republic.

I have a strong commitment to my customers and ensure that all my products are 100% authentic. Additionally, I will provide the most comprehensive and up-to-date information. If you have any questions while looking through the various auctions, please email me and I will be happy to help you.

I recently took a business trip to Morocco and learned much about the history of this country and its role in the fossil trade.
This is an abandoned desert city, known as a Casbah, one of many that is scattered throughout the Northern Sahara region
The fossil business is such a huge tourist market that many local Moroccans use there homes as fossil workshops and make-shift store fronts. More and more, fossils are becoming part of the everyday reality in this exotic place.


However, many Moroccan miners brave great dangers. This is an example of an abandoned French mine that continues to tempt local miners who hope still to find undiscovered minerals. They risk the danger of a mine collapse or suffocation in order to earn enough money for their family’s welfare.
I also had the opportunity to visit Europe and traveled to the Czech Republic in search of rare and exotic fossils and minerals.
Stumbling upon the small and sleepy town of Jince, CZ, I discovered probably the most well-known European trilobite locality as well as encountering some of the nicest people in Europe.
Unfortunately, one of the by-products of trilobite mining is the devastation of beautiful countryside. This is a picture of a mining location in Rejkovice, CZ and is only one example of environmental destruction that is linked to the fossil trade.

I’m excited to share my experience with you and hope this inspires more curiosity about Moroccan and European fossils and minerals. Again, please email any questions you might have and I will do my best to respond promptly.
