Did you know that Ebay has changed the rules for top-rated seller status? Before you were able to be a top-rated seller and not be a Power Seller.. Now they say that you have to be a Power Seller to be a top-rated seller.. Top-rated seller status is based on your performance with your customers and not on your sales. The Power Seller status is based solely on your sales records.. Now they are saying that in order to be a top-rated seller you have to be a power seller.. So basically this all amounts to the money being made by Ebay and not on the customer service.. Ebay makes it very hard for small time businesses to qualify for Power Seller status and now we can't even get top-rated seller status for customer service...

Hi! I am an honest woman just trying to sell a few odds and ends here and there...trying to make a few extra dollars...and who isn't...Ebay and Half.com (I sell books on Half.com) are just a hobby for me, and a fun one at that. As far as shipping charges: I ship all fragile items via Priority Insured Mail; as for the clothing; I try to ship it for the lowest possible price I can, to save you money; there is never any gouging with shipping charges and there are never any handling fees.. Half.com sets their own shipping prices so I have no control over that. For all books ordered thru Half.com, I try my best to ship them out the very next day. Mon-Thurs.. Any books ordered Friday, Saturday or Sunday are shipped out on Monday. Thank you so much for all your purchases and have a nice day..
(Updated August 20th 2009) This is in response to the negative feedback that a buyer from Half.com left for me.. Sellers cannot leave negative feedback for buyers on Half.com so I will explain what happened here.. A buyer from Half.com bought a book from me on July 31st. I had two versions of the same book and accidently shipped the wrong book. The buyer notified me and demanded to rectify the problem quickly which I did. (Because she was a very good repeat customer, I immediately apologized and mailed the right version of the book the very next morning via Priority Mail with Delivery Confirmation. I asked her to return the other book and I would refund the shipping charges once I got the book back.. She didn't respond so I emailed her twice after that. In the second email, I told her that she was leaving me with no other choice but to follow Ebay rules for noncomplying buyer which could result in negative feedback.. She got angry and said that I was rude and threatening apparently because I follow Ebay rules for all transactions.. She said that sellers can't leave negative feedback for buyers but buyers sure could leave negative feedback for sellers.. She demanded that I give her the return shipping charges first and then she would return the book.. I refunded the return shipping charges for Priority Mail with Delivery Confirmation and asked her to email me the tracking number when she shipped the book back. She never emailed me the tracking number.. Two weeks went by and numerous emails.. Then on the 14th of August,she finally said that she already sent the book back and threatened negative feedback.. I got the book on August 20th via Priority Mail with no Delivery Confirmation, with the postal mailing date saying it was mailed on August 18th.. I emailed her and thanked her for returning the book and mentioned the fact that she lied to me about the shipping of the book and she responded with a threat of negative feedback which she had been threatening me with all along. I responded with "Whatever" Do whatever makes you feel better.. So she left negative feedback... I sure hope she feels a whole lot better now!!! I know that people will see all the other positive feedback, some by her, and they will see right thru this.. She is a very demanding rude buyer and also lies as you can see by the shipping dates.. Please beware.. I tried to be nice and right the situation by shipping the right book right away.. She was very demanding, dishonest and rude.. Now she is threatening to send all the emails that I sent to her to Ebay and say that I was harassing her, so that she can get me kicked off of Ebay and Half.com. Figure this one out. Be careful with any dealings with this person. I sure won't be doing any business with her. I know that I made a mistake.. I am only human, but I did apologize and tried to resolve the problem as quick as I could, but apparently that wasn't good enough for her..
I once had a bidder who won three of my auctions and then gave me nothing but problems about trying to pay with Paypal, then said she would send a money order, which she never did.. Then stated that she didn't want the items.. Please, don't bid on items that you know you might not want.. You end up with nonpaying bidder strikes against your account when the seller has to go and follow Ebay rules to get their fees back.. This only creates problems for you. The seller just turns around and relists the items and sells them to a happy buyer.. And then there are some bidders who are making claims that items arrive broken, they don't want to place a claim because the post office confiscates the broken items and they want to keep the item, but they also expect you to refund all their money... leaving you at a loss. (Kinda makes you think that the item didn't arrive broken at all.) (July 2005) had a bidder who is also a power seller with her own store on Ebay, email me and say she never received the item. In the first email, she made threats of filing all kinds of claims against me which she stated would tie up my Ebay and Paypal account for months if I didn't immediately send her proof of shipping.. Also stated that she knows this cuz she has three Ebay IDs herself.. She didn't purchase the optional insurance for the item which I reminded her about.. She insisted that I never shipped the item because I told her that the receipt has a lot of other items on it that were shipped at the same time and I needed the receipt... Please... These are $2. and $3. items.. What reason and what purpose would I have to not ship an item that the buyer has paid for? It is simply not worth my time or reputation here on Ebay to do something like that.. I am a very honest woman and my feedback shows that.. Maybe somebody did this to her and she is just taking it out on everybody else.. I don't know.. but these dishonest bidders make Ebay look bad, and they are raising the prices for everybody else due to their dishonesty... May God help you! Also there are those bidders who bid and then whine and complain about the shipping charges (asking for impossibly cheap shipping) when they agreed to the posted shipping charges upon placing their bid.
When asked to bid on items by family or friends...Do them a big favor and show them how to create their own Ebay ID and account. Do not bid on items for them unless they give you the money upfront. This saves you from the problems of them telling you after you have won the auction that they changed their mind and don't want the item or that they just don't have the money. This can create a lot of hardships amongst family and friends. Just show them how to create their own account and avoid all this..Trust me...I speak from experience with a family member who screwed me over and now we aren't speaking to each other.. Don't let this happen to you....
Payment is to be received within 15 days of end of auction. I prefer Paypal payments.. Sorry, but I do not accept personal checks (due to bad experience), no exceptions, so please don't try to pay with them. They will be sent back to you. By sending an unacceptable personal check you are slowing down the processing of your order. My personal policy is to ship fragile items via Priority/Insured mail (which costs $6.45 and up depending on weight of fragile items) (plastic and baby clothing items can be shipped regular mail without insurance if you choose) within 24 hours of receipt of payment, Monday thru Friday, with the Lord and mother nature permitting. Sorry, but I don't ship outside the U.S. anymore due to a few nonpaying bidders..Thank You. This shipping information is also included with all of my item descriptions.
Take a look...I have been here at Ebay for a few years and it shows in my positive feedback from many people. Of course you get the occasional few that cannot be pleased no matter what you do or offer. I package my items very well so that they arrive just as you see them here. Please bid with confidence.
