Thanks for visiting this page and for your interest in the sale of my collection of hobby games and game-related memorabilia.
I Charles Ryan. If youe a fan or follower of hobby games, you might recognize my name or my works: Ie been in the game industry for 18 years, as a designer, writer, illustrator, graphic designer, business owner, and brand manager.
Where's the Third Round of Auctions?
If you followed my earlier round of auctions, you're probably aware that I promised a third round in late March. Unfortunately, I had some work going on around my house that ran a couple weeks over deadline and really threw a wrench into my efforts to get stuff done. That's all over now, though, and the third round is now (as of April 14) up for auction.
Just Who Is This Charles Ryan Guy?
Over the years, Ie been a lead designer or major contributor to games such as d20 Modern, Deadlands, Dune: Chronicles of the Imperium, Dungeons & Dragons, Millennium End, the Star Trek Roleplaying Game, the Star Wars Roleplaying Game, The Babylon Project, and the Wheel of Time Roleplaying Game, among many others. (If youe just dying to know more about my credits, you can find a partial listing at the pen-and-paper database site.) Most recently, I was Brand Manager for Roleplaying Games at Wizards of the Coast. Ie won one Origins Award and been nominated for over a dozen more in categories including fiction, game design, and graphic design. And I was the Chairman of the Academy of Adventure Gaming Arts & Design from 1995 2000.
But enough about me--let talk about my stuff!
What Does Charles Have to Offer?
I love games, and I love cool game trivia, minutia, and odds and ends. Over the length of my career, Ie amassed a huge collection not just of games, but of nifty game-related items of all sorts. One-of-a-kind prototypes, rare promo items, signed copies, and cool games that went out of print as soon as they came in--I have a room full of this kind of stuff. And while I really like it, I find I need to make a little room for other things in my life, like my kids. And, yes, maybe a few more games! So I've decided to make a portion of my collection available to other gamers and collectors.
For the most part, what I offering isn a bunch of games--it a slice of gaming history! In fact, Ie tried to provide some insight into that history in each of my auction descriptions--not just what the item is, but where it came from any why it significant. (Some of my items are games, but for the most part those are special items--things that are autographed, rare, historically significant, or all three.) If youe looking for a cheap copy of Risk Godstorm, you won find one on my list. But if you be interested in a unique piece of gaming history like, say, the dedication plaque from Milwaukee's MECCA Center (longtime home of Gen Con), check out my list of auctions!
For all items, I accept payments via check, money order, or PayPal (PayPal prefered)). Buyer agrees to pay for shipping.
I hope you find something of interest. Good luck and happy bidding!
