Bubbers testing the Cat Tube. It's a favorite of hers.

ABOUT THESE CATS...OK, I'm the one you always heard about ...the crazy cat lady in the neighborhood! I never planned on being the crazy cat lady...It just happened to me. These cats just know how to find me...somehow.
I started off with one sweet cat. Buffy. She is a nice cat, but she has a real cat attitude...You know, the attitude that makes some people hate cats. She's not very cuddly. In fact, she hates to be touched for more than 5 seconds. I can accept that. I'm that way too, sometimes.
Then, there was this guy at work, who said this poor Siamese kitten needed a home. He said it was a little freaky...It was born without a tail...not even a little nub of a tail. So, I took her in...Squeaks is her name. She squeaks when she meows, and she is a real lap cat. She is my constant companion, and understands every word I say. Really! She looks at me with such understanding when I talk to her, and she talks back. She talks quite a bit...she IS Siamese!
Then came the BIG MAN...my little business man...Charlie. Charlie actually started off down the street. He lived with two sweet little girls. But, his little girl's family moved away...and left Charlie. For a while everyone in the neighborhood fed poor Charlie, but eventually they all stopped. All accept me. Charlie knows he has a good home here, so he stays. He is his own man! He does what he wants!!
Then came Whitney (Houston.) She was being tossed in the air, and into the sprinkler water by her boys, so she came to live with us. She really appreciates her home...she is a real lover!
The wild farm cat came next! Misty. She was rescued, sick and starving from a farm in central Kentucky... She was exhausted, and slept in a towel on my lap for 150 miles....all the way home. But, I think she is bi-polar! She is sweet one minute then bites you the next. No one is safe when Misty is around. Watch your back. She fears nothing!
Last came Bubbers. She was the only one to survive in her litter. She and her mother appeared here one day. Her mother was a good cat, but she was hit by a car not too long after she found me. Bubbers is very fearful, and only after two years of persuading, does she sit on my husband's knee. He felt very honored! I was touched beyond words...It proves that my husband is a good guy. Animals can tell about those things, you know.
Well, that's my cat tale. I'm sure it's not the end....
After all...I really think it takes more than six cats to make a "Crazy Cat Lady." Don't you?
Oh, one more thing about my pet family.... My sweet dog "Hannah" (Rottweiler/German Shepherd mix) was with me for 15 years. Not long enough for me. She is gone, but will never be forgotten. The "big dog" toys listed in Charlie's store are put there with her in mind. Hannah and Charlie were big buddies. He misses her, and so do I.
R.I.P. dear Hannah. 2001~Age 15 years.
