Hello and welcome to the About Me page of Charmin Darlin.     My name is Jerry so I guess maybe my parents wanted a boy.  Surprise!  It's a girl!   I started selling on eBay when my love of Italian Modular Charms became an obsession.  I just knew in my heart that every woman would love them as much as I do and that I needed to help them find the best quality charms available.  Just a word of caution to you.....these little things are very addictive...you can never get enough and there is no such thing as too many.   I was a travel agent by profession but sold my travel agency a few years ago and retired.  That love of travel led me to the life I have today.  My other half works for an Engineering firm in Construction Management.  Construction translates to "moves a lot".  We stay in a town for anywhere from 3 weeks to 3 years and then move on to the next job.  Selling on eBay makes it possible for my work to move with me.   We have a Chocolate Lab named Toby Keith. He is 3 years old and very energetic. Toby tried to help me with the charms one day when he was very young but decided his chew toy tasted better than the charm. Now he mostly just sleeps at my feet when I am working.           How Charm Bracelets Work

Attaching and exchanging links on your bracelet is easy. Italian charm links are designed with a hook on one side and a hole on the other. They also utilize spring loaded clasping mechanisms so that the links can be interchanged easily. To attach links, simply push the front side of the desired link to the left. This should open the clasp and expose the hook. Now, hook the two links together and let them lock back automatically. Most Italian starter bracelets come with 14 plain links and the average woman will need about 18 links to complete a full bracelet. As a general rule, you can measure your wrist and add about to figure out how many links you will need for a comfortable fit. How many charms does it take to fit around a wrist? Authentic Italian Charms vs. Italian tyleCharms Materials Authentic: Major manufacturers use 18 karat gold in their charms. This is a very pure gold with a very rich looking finish. Most authentic Italian charms are also made from nickel free stainless steel. This makes these bracelets much less likely to cause allergic reactions to the skin. Italian tyleCharms: Many knock off charms are made of brass or simply gold plated.  Charms made from inferior materials will often have a brassy look and the steel is typically not made from the same high standards that the Italian manufacturers use. Link Construction Authentic: The original Italian charms typically hand painted enamel or stones that are soldered onto a link providing a bond that is practically unbreakable. Italian tyleCharms: Many discount charms are simply glued onto the link. Oftentimes one can see the glue marks where the design is connected to the link. Ability to Interchange The major Italian charm bracelet manufacturers make charms that are interchangeable with the other major brands and will slide on and off smoothly. Warranty Most of the authentic Italian charm manufacturers back their products with guarantees for a year or so. Brand Unfortunately, many suppliers simply do not stand behind the quality of their charms. In other words, if it looks like you are getting a really good deal, you are probably just buying an inferior product. The major brands stamp the back of each link and often etch in where the charm was made. Obviously, companies can make quality Italian charm bracelets without being located in Florence, Italy.
