Charter Oak Books..... A brief outline

Hello,

Just a brief outline about the history of Charter Oak Books and its owner. The name was recommended by a young man in our church who was giving a hand with a large amount of antiquarian books I had been given. He shared a similar passion for literature and said the name would invoke history, age and stability. The famous 'Charter Oak' is where, in 1687, early American colonists hid their original charter from the repesentatives of King James II who wanted to divide Ct between Massachusetts and New York.

My involvement with eBay began in 1998 when initially attempting to discover the value of stamps I had inherited. Over the last 8 years it has gradually grown into a part-time hobby-business. I am attracted to anything old, especially books, and have a hard time posting auctions because of being drawn into the mystique of the items themselves. I have been a Christian for 30 years and am blessed to aknowledge Jesus Christ as my Savior, God and Lord. I have 3 grown children, one of whom is serving in the United States Navy. 3 terrific grand-children. 3 wonderful step-children, a loving wife and a great church.
