Welcome
2005 is my 32nd year in the antiques business. It's been a good run so far, but I'm nowhere finished. I've met the nicest people, bought and sold the most beautiful objects, and traveled far and wide. Check out my show schedule by clicking on shows. For additional lessons on French and American art glass, lamps and Tiffany desk sets, please visit my web site at chasenantiques.com. There are two important lessons about unsigned iridescent glass that looks like Tiffany but is really Trevaise. While there take a look at the original Louis Icart and Maurice Milliere etchings, and paintings by Pal Fried and AndrGisson. There's also a great selection of American and European ceramics by makers such as Rookwood, Grueby, Marblehead, Van Briggle and the Martin Brothers.

Knowledge
The best buyers are knowledgeable buyers. I still have the teacher in me after having taught math and science in the NYC school system. I enjoy educating people I meet when I exhibit at shows around the country. I've always wanted to write books on antiques, but time never seemed to permit. With the introduction of the Internet, I've partially been able to realize my dreams. I'm proud of the lessons on glass, lamps, ceramics, and desk sets that I've written and posted on my website, free for all to learn from. I've written my "cyber-book". I've received many lovely comments about my lessons, but the best comments were from people who learned enough not to get stuck with a reproduction. Knowledge is power.
