Most of you know this already - BUT - EBAY has a Detailed Seller Rating - D S R - That is the 5 Star Rating you can leave the seller after you leave feedback. eBay now determines where the sellers items will be listed in the Best Match Search AND Eligibility to being a Powerseller, even discounts on Auction Fee's, ALL of that can all be forfeited IF the sellers DSR ( Detailed Seller Rating ) falls below a 4.6 out of the possible 5 star scale.

In October, 2008 - I listed and sold 21 items in one week - 3 were International - ( Japan - France & Italy ) Paypal's requirement for seller protection is that I ship all items with Delivery Confirmation and thats the most expensive cost for the International Buyer - This is Paypal's REQUIREMENT.

My reward for doing what is REQUIRED of me - My International Buyer in France left me a LOW DSR Rating and I was PUNISHED Because I charged them what the Post Office charged ME ! I agree - INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING IS EXPENSIVE ! I received a 4.5 rating and Lost MY power seller discount ( about $30.00 for those 21 items ) that I would had earned otherwise ;~( ALL Caused by this DSR - BS Crap !

I Know, This is not a big deal for a buyer, BUT eBay FAILS to let YOU ( my buyer) how much is at risk! I have been selling on eBay for over 10 YEARS and have over 4,900 Positive Feedback and eBay tells me my that MY search results were LOWERED Because my Shipping and Handling DSR is not high enough. WHAT ? Now I am a bad eBay seller and my listings should be shown after all the other sellers that are "Better" than me. WHAT ? Now I am NOT an Exemplary eBay seller ? 10 Years with over 4,900 POSITIVE hard earned Feedback with only 1 Negative for selling a $5.00 ashtray, 4 Years ago - to a new bidder that did not understand the feedback and left the negative for me WITHOUT even contacting me to make it right ;~( WHAT ?

I take eBay seriously - This is what I do for a living ! This is how I pay my bills AND how I am able to afford the items that I list on eBay to sell to YOU. The ONLY area there is a problem with now, is in this DSR BS , ( IT IS MUCH BETTER NOW ... THANK YOU ) I was rated lower in The SHIPPING AND HANDLING CHARGE - and do not understand that at all, I DO NOT have a set $5.00 or $10.00 handling charge and I do not charge $20.00 to mail a coin in an an envelope ! ( they should be the ones than need punished ) I state the shipping price in ALL of my auctions. YOU ( My Customers ) know in advance what I am charging and YOU can decide if you want to purchase my item or not - I HAVE NO HIDDEN CHARGES - NO hidden fees and NO surprises after the sale! I try to closely GUESS what I will have to pay the Post Office for THEIR Shipping charge so I can ship the item to you - With THEIR rate structure, THEY determine the cost by the zone you live in ( distance from me ) and the size of the package - I now have to have ESP and guess where my buyer lives BEFORE they even see my item listed for sale !

Sometimes I guess it wrong and I pay more for the shipping than my buyer pays me, I pay it and life goes on .... It is not too often that I make any thing on the shipping cost and if I do, it is never very much and was a fair price to pay otherwise YOU would not have purchased my item ... The price is ALWAYS Stated in my listing .

I ask that my International Buyers ( including Hawaii, Puerto Rico and Alaska ) ask me for a shipping quote before the auction ends so THEY Can determine if they want to purchase my item - INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING IS MORE EXPENSIVE and when they get their package, I AGREE that SHIPPING IS EXPENSIVE but I did not set the rates for the Postal Service AND, I should NOT be held responsible for it OR get less than a 5 star rating from them because They purchased something 1000's of miles away ;~(

I asked eBay what I should do and their answer to me was .... If I want to raise my DSR, I should consider to not sell Internationally ;~( ...
