Hello, I am Chip Barkel. I carry a quality mix of antique, vintage and collectable dolls, usually including Door of Hope dolls, Simon and Halbig, Kestner, Kammer and Rhinehardt, Schoenhuts, Madame Alexander, Effanbee, and occasionally doll artist dolls.
I sell primarily via mail-order / internet, eBay, and by appointment. I began collecting and selling dolls in 1976. I am a member of UFDC and was an active member of the Valley Forge Doll Club of PA and a founding member of the Delaware Valley Doll Club of NJ.
I co-edited (with A. Glenn Mandeville) the first two Madame Alexander price guides that accompanied Madame Alexander Collectors Dolls (1977 -1978) by Patricia R. Smith and have authored doll-related articles in various periodicals, including one on Dewees Cochran and her American Portrait Children, which was chosen for inclusion in the Dolls Readers' Best of the 1980s book.
