I have loved jewelry since I can remember, and, in fact, do remember some of the first pieces I ever had...a gold and pink-enameled heart shaped locket with a "diamond" in the middle..(age 3)...a "ruby"(age 8), pear shaped and to me absolutely awesome since it reminded me of far away places I dreamed about and the heroines of the fairy tales I devoured. Reading was my joy, so after an undergraduate and 2 graduate degrees in English, I taught high school for 5 years, then college English and Humanities for 23. Now I no longer teach but spend my days indulging my creative outlets, reading, talking to my cats, and travelling to visit those far away lands.... each with its own gemstones and jewelry traditions that became as important to me as the architecture and paintings that first prompted my travel.
