Linda and Ken on vacation in Baltimore, MD in 2007
|
Hi Everyone.
I was born on March 21, 1962, the only child, to two "older" parents, both in their 40's when I was born. I was raised in Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania until the age of 4 (1966) , at which time my Dad's job took us to Monongalia County, West Virginia. We lived there for 22 years. In 1985 my Dad passed away. Mom and I continued to live in the house for 3 more years. In 1988, circumstances had us selling that house and returning to Westmoreland County.
In 1994, I met my future husband, Ken. We were married December 10, 1995. We have no children, but love our 2 kids with fur, our two cats (Ashton and Tuesday).
In 2005, Ken became disabled. He stays at home and does whatever his condition will allow him to do on any given day to help with the chores, but it gets harder each day for him to do things. When we go out, he may use any of the aids available to him ranging from a leg brace - cane - quad cane- walker - rollator - wheel chair.
In the photo of us, we were on the first real vacation in about 6 or 7 years, due to Mom's health and our jobs, etc. Not long after he became disabled, I was hired from the temp agency I was working through, into the company, and took a vacation about a year later.
Ever since Mom and I moved back to Westmoreland County, I have loved flea markets. I have been in and out of about 8 flea markets since 1988, some more than once. Some day I would like to have my own flea market, but at the present time it just isn't possible.
I started eBaying in February of 2007, and am trying to raise money to get caught up on the bills. I'm slowly getting the store stocked (currently holding between 750 and 800 but want to go higher) and trying to run auctions to bring trafic to it, but it will be a while until I get to the point I want to be in. I'm waiting to see what goes with the selling assistant program in Pennsylvania. I'm considering doing this on a Fixed Price basis, since I have reached the required feedback level. I've got to work on the money level, now. Otherwise, I plan to keep plugging along.
