My husband, Bill and I live on the coast of North Carolina where we enjoy our lives with our three miniature pinschers. Bill's mobility is limited, so my primary responsibility is his care. I am a retired registered nurse so my medical knowledge is an asset as I care for him. We are born again Christians and love to attend our church when possible. We love being a part of our small church and the fellowship of our church family.
I began collecting dolls while living in Panama. Most of my dolls were play dolls I restored as gifts for children who lived on an island where we had a mission. I found some unusual dolls which I kept. That was the beginning of what I now enjoy as more than a hobby.
Since 1991, I have been actively collecting dolls. In recent years my interest has turned to reborn babies as well as Middleton babies. I have several that Lee Middleton sculpted, babies as well as toddlers. I never played with dolls as a child, but as an adult working in my profession as a nurse, I loved the nursery and the care of newborns. Now I enjoy my babies which number near 150.
Our home decor is not only doll-centered, but we also have a collection of articles from Latin America. In fact we have at least one item from every Central and South America country. Those items remind me of the years I spent in Costa Rica and Panama and the wonderful life I enjoyed there.
God is always good! "He is no fool who gives what he cannot keep in order to gain what he cannot lose." (Quote from Jim Elliot, a missionary who served in Equator in the 1950's and was killed by the Indians he tried to serve.)
