Clanky Plays It Straight!
Because we run the show around here, nobody asks us to do anything shady. We know the games some sellers play, but we do not play them. We abhor shill bidding and other forms of manipulation -- indeed, a simple review of our completed auctions will show that we are not afraid to sell our items for even one dollar.

Further, we sometimes receive emails asking "how much to end the auction and sell offline?". You can be confident that we do not entertain these requests -- the only way to win a Clanky item is to bid on it.

We are pretty sure our straight dealing is one of the big reasons our rating is 100 percent positive.

Clanky's Shipping Policy
While many shippers have all kinds of different rates, we quote one rate for you. On some items, we give "48 states" shipping. On other items, we throw caution to the wind and give one price to cover even Honolulu and Anchorage. We think "pre-quoting" makes it fairer for most bidders, and this also allows you to factor your total outlay WHILE BIDDING. (International shipments ship by location rate.) Finally, sometimes we choose ebay's shipping calculator. We tend to do this on big or heavy stuff.

Note also that we are more concerned about packing CAREFULLY than packing QUICKLY. If you have a special situation, let us know and we will do our best to work with you.

Clanky: Your Online Oasis Of Sanity
The last thing you want after your satisfying win is to start getting emails with, "Where is my money? Where is my money?" At Clanky, we never rush our customers, or threaten them with negative feedback, or any of that stupid stuff. We look at it this way: since you are bidding on our items, you are obviously intelligent. And because you are so smart, you are also probably pretty busy. Busy people deserve the time it takes to drop a payment in the mail. So anyway.... why should you be in a rush? We won't rush you!

How Clanky Packs
For packing, we use newly purchased boxes or USPS Priority Mail boxes. We also use newly purchased Jiffy Bags or Jet-Lite bags for durable, non-fragile items. We pack your item carefully with professional packaging material and either pressure-sensitive or water-activated tape. We print up a clear label so that the carrier is very clear about where to deliver the package. This is all simple stuff, but not everybody does it this way.

Clanky "Just Says No" To Repro!
Look at this clever tin Roy Rogers and Trigger toy. Nice, huh? Maybe not so nice, actually. Not vintage, anyway. And it is certainly not what we would ever call original. It is a simple "copy job" made very recently in China. Be on the lookout for REPRODUCTIONS and FAKES on EBay. They are everywhere. At Clanky, your items are guaranteed original. We do NOT sell REPRODUCTION items unless we tell you first (in which case we spell it out loudly and clearly in capital letters as REPRODUCTION).

We are serious about the representation of our items, and we put our money where our mouth is. If you discover that an item you have won from us is a REPRODUCTION, and we failed to describe it as REPRODUCTION in the item's description listing, we will buy it back from you. INCLUDING SHIPPING BOTH WAYS.

Clanky's "No Reserve" Auction Policy
We like to buy low, and we bet you do, too! That's why we steer clear of "using reserves" in our auctions. We think reserves are just a way of asking bidders to jump through hoops, and that's not our style. We don't like reserves as buyers, and we don't like reserves as sellers. Some people tell us they think we are crazy for not using reserves, but we don't mind. We just keep running our auctions with no reserve, and people keep coming back to bid with us. That's all we want to say on that.

Road Trip To Clanky's!

Our customers have arrived here in the cornfield IN PERSON from as far away as Arizona, California, Illinois, Kentucky, Minnesota, Mississippi, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Texas, Wisconsin, and Key West, Florida! Do you think it is crazy to make a trip like this? Would you take this kind of road trip? Honestly! Do people actually come from all over the United States just so they can have a cup of my delicious coffee?

Well, we don't know for sure. But we do know this....

Zionsville, Indiana is a day's drive from half the population of the United States, so the odds are 50/50 that wherever you are right now, you are within driving distance of picking up your item in person! And if you like dicey weather, mixing it up with the big rigs, and Cracker Barrel at every exit, boy, are you going to love my Hoosier state!

Here is an example. Look at this lovely family up above here. They drove all the way to Clanky's place from Nebraska! What do these Cornhuskers have to say about Clanky?

I try to leave positive feedback that is fun to read. One time, ebay user and hip-daddy vintage sign connoisseur "bidbaddict" bought a sign from me and left some pretty good feedback. I came back with, "Bidbad rocks the bay!" Well, bid's girlfriend was reading through his feedback [does she have nothing else to do?] and liked mine so much that she made her man a tee shirt out of it. And at long last, Clanky gets his 15 minutes of fame.

For payment, we use a Post Office Box, which means the transaction falls under the laws of the United States Government. If you send money to my Post Office Box, and you don't get your item, that constitutes mail fraud. In the United States, mail fraud is a federal offense, so if were to take your money and not send your item, I could go to jail. Now, I loved that scene in Trading Places where Eddie Murphy does the Quart of Blood technique, but aside from that, jail looks grim to me. So, your money is actually safer going to my Post Office Box than anywhere else!

We do not add on additional services such as insurance or delivery confirmation unless the buyer requests them and pays for them. We will NOT be held liable for lost or damaged shipments that are not insured.
