HELLO FROM CLARINETGRAMMY
My main focus in music is as a church musician. Since 1994 I have been a member of the orchestra in Jerusalem for the International Christian Embassy Jerusalem's annual celebration of the Feast of Tabernacles. My husband and I spend one month each year for this event, he in logistics and myself as a member of the orchestra and worship team. I also play first clarinet in a community band in my home town to keep myself up on reading music. I'm also a speaker and Bible teacher and have traveled to many, many countries in the last 25 years speaking and participating on worship teams and in orchestras.
A musician playing clarinet for over 47 years, my eBay experience began not with the purchase of a clarinet, but with the purchase of a Paul Reed Smith guitar. I was nervous about buying such an expensive instrument from an online auction, but saw the seller's feedback for hundreds of sales was 100%, so I entered my bid and won. It was a very positive experience and made me decide to start shopping for clarinet stuff. I started buying things to enhance my playing, such as mouthpieces. After a while I bought so many that I decided to try my hand at selling them on eBay. My hobby became more serious and before long I had sold hundreds of mouthpieces and clarinet equipment. I also sold many, many clarinets to adult players (some pros and some returning to clarinet) as well as parents needing good quality instruments for their student players. These ranged from top-o-the-line models from Leblanc, Buffet, Yamaha and Selmer to high quality student instruments.
The eBay community enables me to play-test models of clarinet that would not be possible otherwise and has expanded my knowledge on this great instrument. Thank you eBay!
The last couple of years I have slowed down my buying and selling quite a bit and now buy for myself to enjoy. I'm still playing clarinet on a regular basis. My husband, Jerry, owns a construction company and loves to collect antique cameras--but doesn't like to sell them. He has a great time. I figure it's better than bungee jumping for a hobby.
I occasionally bid on trucks and construction equipment for my husband's company, so if you see my id bidding on a great big International truck or some other type of equipment don't be surprised. We also sell his old equipment from time to time, including salesmen's pickups, Tahoes and Yukons. But, I'm mainly a clarinet person.
MY GUIDELINES AS A SELLER/BUYER ON EBAY
I never advertise anything for sale that I do not have on hand to ship out to a buyer. My merchandise is put away in a safe place and not touched until it is ready to be shipped. If I don't have it, I don't advertise it. I always try to describe it as honestly as possible and photograph the actual item, not one from a website somewhere.
Honesty is the best policy. I try to package and ship promptly upon receipt of payment and I want other sellers to do the same when I buy from them. So far, most of my experiences have been good ones and I really enjoy buying and selling on eBay. I hope you do, too! Have a good one!
