First, let me make sure you know I am NOT the Flower Frog Lady. That honor is held by Pat Holden in Tucson.  She is on my favorite person list and taught me a lot about collecting Flower Frogs in the beginning. Pat is a wonderful Ebayer so be sure to look her up one day.

Now, how do you become the Atlanta Flower Frog Lady. Just by saying so.

I started my adventure into collecting, selling and of course buying about two years ago. I started to book space at local Antique Shows and then rented space at Antique Malls around Atlanta, GA. I showed vintage, decorative and antique (based on the 100 year rule) and sometimes people actually shopped with me.  I realized that on a given day you had a lot of competition and there was no guarantee to get someone to look at your "stuff and such." So I thought, what item is vintage, antique and quite collectible????hmmmmmmmm

One of my fond collections turned out to be my Granny and my Mother's flower frogs. They had both been avid gardeners and dabbled in flower arranging for a hobby. So for years I packed them in boxes and moved them for close to 35 years, sometimes used them but mostly used them to sit around. hmmmmmmmmmmmmm

It was clear to me that at a show you may find a dozen flower frogs tucked away on shelves and buried deep in the piles on tables. But never would you find a whole booth space devoted to FLOWER FROGS and items that related to them, vases, planters, bowls, dried flowers, real flowers, and other garden stuff and such. Oh, and frogs, froggys, you know frogs that live in water and why Flower Frogs are called frogs at all.

So I decided to become a specialist in Vintage and Antque Flower Frogs. I knew a little but boy was there more to learn. From June 2003 until now there isn't a day that goes by that I don't learn something else about the collectible Flower Frogs. From a mere collection of 10 flower holders that were my legacy to a collection of inventory numbering right around 1000, I became the Flower Frog Lady.

I have met hundreds of people who were already collectors. I have talked to hundred of people who had no idea what a flower frog was or what you did with one. I have introduced the idea of collecting Flower Frogs to several hundred people and I have thousands of fun, interesting and delightful friends through the wonderful world of collecting Flower Frogs.

We began selling on Ebay September 2004 and opened our Ebay Store FLOWER FROGS R US.  Once again we love this form of selling and marketing.  There are wonderful people out there and so many more come visit us than I would ever be able to service in a weekend show. We are learning from other sellers. We are learning from our buyers. We have learned a tremendous amount of marketing skills from Ebay, Square Deal and other aspects of the Ebay Community. And we enjoy making the connection.

We find flower frogs EVERYwhere. At Flea Markets, at Antique Stores, at Yard Sales, Thrift Stores, collectors who are getting out of the collection. I have stories after stories and I will add them from time to time.
