VINYL GRADING STANDARDS
All LP's are from my own personal collection, unless noted, painstaking care has been taken with all my vinyl. I will grade both vinyl and cover and will stand behind all my grading evaluations 100%. I have been a collector for over 30 years that honors and values "true" vinyl sound. My grading standards are based from years of experience and personal knowledge of both the storage and care of each LP, grade descriptions have been paraphrased from GoldMine standards.
Mint (M) - Perfect in every way - never played - I will only use this category if album is unopened
Near Mint (NM) - A nearly perfect record - shows no obvious signs of wear - pristine cover - no cut-out marks (cut-corner, hole, or cut-slits)
Very Good Plus (VG+) - Will show some signs of wear, slight scuffs and very light scratches that do not affect the listening quality, slight ring wear on cover and sleeve
Very Good (VG) - Obvious signs of playing and wear, surface noise may be evident but will not distract from music, covers and sleeves show wear (writing, tape, or other extraneous marks), cut-out marks (cut-corners, holes, or cut-slits)
Good (G), Good Plus (G+) - Shows signs of wear, will not skip through music even though wear is evident, cover has split seams or has been taped
Poor (P), Fair (F) - Don't bother, I will not list an LP of this grade unless it is extremely RARE and grade will be noted extensively

BOOK GRADING STANDARDS
I will attempt to convey extensively through photos and written description the "true" condition of any book or printed item I list. I do not want to misrepresent any copy I list and will provide additional photos when requested. I will grade cover, pages, and dust jacket, where applicable. Foxing (small brown age spots or browning of page paper) is a major issue with most of my listings because of their age and I will note this condition extensively. My grading standards are based on the below criteria.
FINE: Excellent condition, no tears or creases of any kind. Covers must be vibrant in color with lustre in tact. Dust jackets may have minimal aging fade with still vibrant colors, may show very light edge frays. Pages must be closer to white than yellow and must all be intact. No tape or extraneous stains or spots anywhere. Item may show only very slight signs of wear - has been read by someone but very carefully.
VERY GOOD: Item may show some signs of wear. Cover may show signs of wear, minor edge roll on binding ends and corners. Some minor signs of shelf wear, creases and edge wear on dust jackets, where applicable. Page paper not as white as fine with slight signs of being read, extremely minor foxing of older texts. Basically, an above average copy showing some wear.
GOOD: An average copy that shows considerable wear. Cover may have edge and corner wear. Dust jackets may be chipped and frayed but still in tact. Color of cover and dust jacket may be faded with diminished lustre. Pages will be more yellow than white with some signs of foxing (I will note this condition extensively). Binding may be loose but in tact. Creases of pages may be also be evident with minimal extraneous writing.
FAIR: I would also use this grade for a READING COPY. This item will show more wear than a GOOD copy. Cover may be chipped and faded showing signs of wear on all edges. Dust jackets, in tact, but showing extensive wear. Pages will be more yellow than white, extensive foxing, with missing end pages. Binding may be loose but not falling apart.
POOR: This item has been used extensively and shows major signs of wear. It can be read but thats about all. I will note extensively when an item has these grading characteristics.
LIBRARY COPY: This copy is only for reading or research. This item may be in any condition and has no collectible value unless extremely rare.
