In 1994 I was diagnosed with a condition, called Leber's Disease, that resulted in a permanent partial loss of my eyesight. I couldn't work at the job I had trained for anymore because they required a driver's license, and I couldn't see well enough to drive. I had to look for something to supplement my income. I had been a member of Ebay since 1998, and after trying various other options, I decided to give selling on Ebay a try. In July 2000, I moved from Michigan to Florida to see if the sunlight would help my vision. While I was living there, I started my Ebay business. I gained my Power Seller status my first year of selling, and when Ebay introduced the Stores, I opened Cherie's Plus Fashions+Yarn.  In 2004, when Caron quit making Dazzleaire Yarn, I added this to my auctions. Unlike some sellers, this isn't something I've had stored for years, and since I can't drive, I don't have the luxury of going to estate sales. I buy this yarn when I can find it, and have to pay shipping on top of that, so my starting price must cover my costs. I will keep trying to find this special yarn for my customers as long as it is possible, however, it has become very difficult to find. Another yarn I like, which has also been discontinued, is Red Heart Holiday Yarn. This is easier to find, and I buy it whenever I can find it. When it comes to yarn, I prefer selling discontinued yarn, when it is available.
