This extends to all aspects of my work in coins and currency, with buyers, sellers and business associates. With nearly 40 years business management experience and at 61 years of age I am long past trying to do it the way most most people run their business. I characterize that management style by these catchphrases - "full speed ahead", "get out of my way" and "damn the consequences". I realized decades ago that unless I did the "right thing" by others I could not be happy or successful.

For many years I bought, sold and collected coins and currency. In 2001 I left the corporate world for good when I decided to pursue my long-term interest as a full-time coin and currency dealer. I was very fortunate at the time of making the acquaintance of David and Leon Hendrickson, the owners of Silvertowne LP. Through their mentoring my learning curve was greatly accelerated - they continue to be my friends, mentors and go-to professionals when I need specialized coin or currency expertise. Leon as you may know was named Numismatist of The Year in 2008. He and David both are living legends in the coin business. I am eternally grateful for their personal encouragement, generosity and support in my early years in the business and their continuing friendship.

If one measures success by happiness then I am one of the most successful people you will ever meet. I love what I do and feel energized every day when I get up and prepare for my day. I believe this is reflected in the way I deal with everyone I meet and everyone I work with. I think my entire working life was intended to prepare me for working with buyers and sellers of coins and currency.

Importantly, I will only refer you to a reference after I qualify who you are and what your interest is in working with me is. This is done to protect my customers and associates from unnecessary contacts.

I learned through my many years of work managing large numbers of people nothing really large works very well - especially companies. For that reason when I started my business I made a solemn vow that I would never have many, if any employees, and would always be the number one go-to person for every one of my customers - no one can ever represent our values and beliefs better than we can. So for that reason I will continue to have very few employees and always be the face, ears, eyes and voice of my company. While this limits how many people I can serve, it is the only way I want to business for the rest of my life.
