Thanks for visiting the DM Rare Coins eBay Store!

We've been selling coins on eBay for 10 years now, and from our first listing back in 1999, our goal has been to sell beautiful coins, provide helpful answers, ship quickly, and offer a no-questions-asked return policy, all to ensure complete satisfaction. We hope our passion for the hobby comes through in our work! Our extensive experience submitting to all the major certification services gives us the edge needed to pick out those truly special coins from an increasingly wide range of quality on today's market. We hope we are making it easier for you, our customer, to find nice coins.

Terms of Sale

Buyer pays fixed shipping and insurance amount specified in auction page, where applicable. Through our eBay sales, we can accept Paypal only. We will invoice all high bidders after auction-close with payment information. An email confirmation will be sent when your item ships. In the event of a return, be sure to send the package with insurance, as we are not responsible for returning packages if they are lost, stolen, or damaged.

We believe that being upfront and honest about policies and ethics is the best way to prevent misunderstandings. The following list contains important information we want you to know about our business, and our coins.

  1. We endeavor to answer all inquiries professionally and as quickly as possible, in the order they were received. We have an extensive knowledge of coins and are happy to help!
  2. We offer a simple, no-questions-asked return policy that is among the best on eBay (it has actually been plagiarized, from time to time, be some other eBay sellers). Your satisfaction is our goal; we want to find great coins and make them available to you, not stick you with junk and make a fast buck. Therefore, we generously accept returns, according to our stated policy, when you are not completely satisfied.
  3. We provide clear photographs of every coin, regardless of value. Additionally, all images are of the actual coin being offered; anything less would be unprofessional and dubious (at best).
  4. We are happy to re-image any coin that you would like a better look at. We can sending our pictures to your email address on request so that you can see the raw images before they are condensed by the image hosting service. We provide close-ups of the obverse, reverse, and any variety diagnostics, as well as a "coin-in-slab" view, and even a "life-shot," where possible. A life-shot shows the coin as it would look from an arms-length, and provides perspective on the coin's appearance that is often lost in close-up images. A coin with prooflike characteristic will often receive what we call a "reflection-shot." In this image, we hold an NGC label anywhere from 1/2" to 3" away from the front of the slab, so that you can see, and often read, the label on the mirrored face of the actual coin (not the plastic shell). This is sometimes the only way to demonstrate, online, that a coin has a reflective finish.
  5. We never recommend coins as investments, and will not try to push them for that reason. Coins should be enjoyed for their artistic, historic, and cultural aspects, as well as for the satisfaction of achievement gained by completing a set.
  6. We attempt to describe every coin as accurately as possible, providing any and all relevant information that may or may not be listed on the slab. Thus, if we list a die variety or strike characteristic that is not written on the slab label, that means we have researched it thoroughly (using standard references and years of experience) and are providing you with important additional information. We are not hyping these coins, we just want you to know exactly what you are buying. We learned coins from the ground up, before grading services dominated the field, and we know how to grade and attribute coins on our own. And, we buy coins on thier own merrits.
  7. It is a common misconception that coin grading services will write all important facts about a coin on the label automatically. This is absolutely, categorically false; PCGS and NGC each have their own, unique, and exclusive list of varieties that they are willing to recognized, and they will only do so for a considerable fee. The reality is that most certified coins were not reviewed for anything but grade. Furthermore, no grading services attempt (or even claim to make an effort to) list all known or relevant varieties, striking characteristics, and other interesting factors on their labels, or include them in thier catologues. Thus, many amazing and valuable varieties and strike characteristics cannot be printed on slab labels, period. If you only buy coins with qualities that are recognized on the slab, you might be missing out on 97% of the coolest coins in your respective series!
  8. Our coins are always priced fairly and competitively. We do not add large margins to our coins hoping to reap unfair profits. We appreciate offers on our coins, but generally, we have very little wiggle room. Sometimes we place sales on our listings. These discounts are usually applied to all items, and not factored into our original costs. If we are having a sale, we are doing so to raise capital and keep our cash flow moving, even if that means taking losses. Our sales are not gimmicks ~ our coins sell themselves, after all!
  9. We try to offer only top quality coins, thus we need to use a couple verbal describers for those coins that are choice for their assigned grade: "High-End" and "Premium Quality" (PQ). They mean slightly different things. First, coins are assigned grades that fall along a continuum, so there are many different levels of quality within each grade. As an example, the MS64 grade can be divided into three parts, Low-end (C), Average (B), and High-end (A), and while a High-end coin falls into the "MS64 A" category, it is still within the bounds of the MS64 grade. A Premium Quality (PQ), coin graded MS64, on the other hand, is an "MS64 A+" coin that we feel could have (or sometimes even should have) graded MS65.
  10. On the occasion that we acquire coins that are over-graded, improperly dipped, artificially toned, or otherwise problematic (and we are very particular), we send them directly back to NGC or PCGS for downgrade. It is not our desire to offer low-end material, and we don't. It is possible you may disagree with the grade of a particular coin that we list, and that is bound to happen on occasion, because of the subjective nature of coin grading. However, you can be sure that we have carefully screened all listed items for grade-accuracy and quality, and that our descriptions will address any relevant concerns, up-front.
