I figure I have looked at over 10,000 1999 proof pennies at this point! On the rare occasion I have some free time, I will be listing some of these items...........................................6-1-2006.......WOW, I'm up to 15,000 now on 1999 proof pennies searched. I DID NOT FIND ONE CLOSE AM VARIETY IN THE LAST 5,000 PROOF PENNIES I LOOKED AT. I'M BEGINNING TO THINK THAT THIS ERROR/DIE VARIETY COIN IS EVEN MORE RARE THAN I FIRST THOUGHT!! IF THIS COIN ENDS UP BEING LIKE THE NO "S" MINT MARK PROOF COINS FROM THE OLDER PROOF SETS THIS COIN WILL BE WORTH A TON MORE THAN I AM ASKING RIGHT NOW! TIME WILL TELL??????.............10-1-2006.....WELL A FEW MORE OF THESE RARE PROOF PENNIES HAVE BEEN SHOWING UP ON EBAY. THAT DOES NOT SUPRISE ME AT ALL. I MEAN, WHEN A PCGS 69 BRINGS OVER $1000, PEOPLE START TO NOTICE THINGS LIKE THAT. ONE RECENTLY SOLD ON TELETRADE FOR $2000. WHEN PCGS ADDS THIS COIN TO THE SET REGISTRY LIST, THESE WILL GET EVEN HOTTER. AND IT IS VERY TUFF TO GET A HIGH GRADE ON THESE COINS, THE REVERSE ON MOST ALL OF THEM YOU FIND HAS TONING, SPOTS, UGLY MARKS. IT MUST HAVE SOMETHING TO DO WITH THE FACT THAT THE DIE WAS FOR BUSINESS STRIKE COINS AND WAS NOT A PROOF COIN DIE. MORE TO COME.......1-1-2008....I haven't found a close am proof penny in a proof set for over a year. I think people have searched most of the sets by now. I must have gotten lucky and found a small batch of sets that all had the close am errors in them. If I had to guess I would think there are less than 500 coins in existence. Remember, the POP reports at NGC and PCGS are inflated because coins have been graded, cracked out and re-graded. I have done this with 10 coins myself......Happy hunting!

 

 

I mail packages at least twice a week, so your order will go out in a timely manner. I do not overgrade cards or coins so bid/buy with confidence. I do not like to take personal checks, but if someone e-mails me ahead of time I will consider it. A personal check would be held at least 10 business days, NO exceptions! THANKS!
