Thank you so much for taking time to visit. I hope that you enjoy looking at some of my work and will come back often. My interest in Primitive Folk Art started more than 20 years ago while I was in the U.S. Navy. My 22 years in the Navy has been my greatest honor and if I could do it all over again I gladly would.
I am 62 years old now and enjoying my retirement. I can't think of anything I would rather be doing right now than making primitive reproductions. Still, we are contemplating making this my last year of doing it full time. We have been fortunate to be able to see much of the world and now it is time to see more of our own beautiful country we live in.
I spent many years doing shows in Virginia; where I ultimately opened a shop in a quaint little village in Williamsburg, Virginia. I enjoyed being in that historical setting and meeting tourists from all over the world. There I fell in love with the work of 18th century craftsmen and I continue to try to reproduce items of that era and items of our historical past.
I have been very fortunate to have met and known some of the finest craftsman of the trade. From them I have learned and still to this day am still learning even though it is primarily by telephone since moving back to Alabama.
All of my items are made one at a time by me from start to finish. I do not mass produce, build an inventory, or have any assistance in production of my pieces. Each piece is made to order for you...
I welcome your questions or suggestions and will work with you on special requests or any color changes. I enjoy doing special orders! Everyone has such wonderful ideas and I am always happy to bring your idea to light. Just send me an e-mail and I will respond.
Thanks so much ~ Wayne Sims
We are slowly beginning the first phase of our slowing down period now...we have taken many items off of Ebay that we offered and are having our website redone so you may find some of those items there when it is completed. I am still always happy to do special orders for everyone so as I said above, don't hesitate to ask.
We are hoping in approximately two years that we will be able to go to Alaska and spend a year there...just a fun adventure for Lorie and I to be able to experience!
I want to take the time to say thank you as well for all your nice emails and continued support!
It is a lot of fun working along side of Wayne and I have really enjoyed offering the unique antiques and collectibles that I find in some of our out of the way antiques stores. So often it is hard to part with these things since I buy only what I would want too...lol.
Thank you again for all the new friendships made along the way!!
Lorie
