Oboe Reed

Welcome to The Colorado Reed Company, based in Denver, Colorado. I provide handmade oboe and English horn reeds to professionals, students, and anyone in-between who wants a high-quality reed without having to go to the trouble of making it.

My reeds have a pleasant tone that is neither too dark nor too bright, with a good response and stable pitch. I tie them on the best cane available to me, always on a silver staple with natural cork. English Horn reeds are tied on a high quality brass staple, because I like the tone of brass rather than silver for English Horn.
