In the spring of 2005, my
wife Kelly and I were going to a Melissa Etheridge show and Kelly wanted to wear
something classier than just a t-shirt to the show. We had a number of Melissa Etheridge
guitar picks, and I quickly put together a necklace. We went to the show, which
was awesome as usual, and everyone around us wanted to know about the necklace.
After the show, we started making Melissa Etheridge necklaces and listing them
on eBay. This is how Concertwear started.
Thanks to our wonderful and
loyal customers, we have been able to travel to see, and even meet, many of our
favorite artists. In October 2005, we attended a breast cancer benefit at the
House of Blues in Hollywood and saw INXS, Buffalo’s own Goo Goo Dolls, and Melissa
Etheridge perform. Before the show, we happened to meet JD Fortune, the lead
singer of INXS, who had just been selected as the winner of “Rock Star:INXS”.
In July, 2006, we attended a
Melissa Etheridge “Meet & Greet” in Chicago,
and Kelly was finally able to meet her favorite singer. Melissa was wonderful
to us and was especially touched when I mentioned that we had used some of her
lyrics on our wedding invitation.
In January 2007, we were
fortunate to attend a “Meet & Greet” for Rockstar:Supernova at Shea’s Performing Arts Center
in Buffalo, New York. Our seats were front row center
and we had a great time.
