Even though I have been registered on eBay since 2003, I did not officially start buying and trading on eBay until May, 2006. WHY SUPPORT SMALL BUSINESS? The natural products industry has changed drastically over the last few years. What used to be a strong focus on quality has shifted to quantity to meet the demand by large natural food stores, the placement of organically-produced items in "big box" stores, as well as volume lots offered by wholesale clubs and by online stores on the web like Amazon. One result of this has been a marginalization of small family farmers, artisans, and purveyors who have products of impeccable quality, but cannot produce or market their item on a large scale. Another result has been many small businesses have had to be forced to shut their doors because they cannot complete with the deeply discounted prices by these large stores. Even though this store may not have wholesale club prices, I believe that my support of other like-minded businesses and family farmers are well worth supporting. About ME...I am 40 years old, happily married, and live in Southern California. I am a proud SAHM to two young daughters, ages 6 and 3. Our family engages in voluntary simplicity and very proud of it. I have been self-employed for 6 years. What started out as a mere idea to sell the products that I love at a large local farmers' market in my community has blossomed into a wonderful second income for my family. And yes, I do still have that booth, and as I have been told that I am a customer favorite - so please visit me if you ever visit San Diego or reside in San Diego.
