I believe in treating my eBay customers in the very same manner in which they expect to be treated. They are shown honesty, courtesy, respect, and appreciation.

I have been a pipe collector for over thirty five years. My very first pipes were estate pieces, that I learned to clean and restore by and for myself. Our pipe collecting hobby has many different "sub-interests", for example there are those that like to collect a certain maker's pipes, or those that like to collect certain styles of pipes (like Danish freehands), or shapes of pipes (like billiards). There are those that like to collect antique pipes, or pipes by their stamping. There are those that like to make pipes and those who like to sample every type of tobacco on the market, either current, or those of yesteryear. One of my "sub-interests" is pipe restoration. I have restored thousands of collectible smoking pipes over the past thirty plus years.

Please don't ask how I perform my restorations. My methodology of restoration has been self-taught as well as both hard learned and earned. It is extremely labor intensive and, yes, requires a lot of skill, practice, experience, and some dexterity. It takes handling thousands of pipes from all of the different makers and their respective eras, to understand how to properly restore a pipe. You can bid on my pipes on eBay, and receive the results of my restoration work, as the vast majority of the pipes that I auction on eBay have been carefully, meticulously, and thoroughly cleaned, sanitized, polished, and restored in my workshop, by no one other than myself!

I have performed restoration work over the years for many of the special high grade pipes that Barry and Nikos Levin had sold in their mailers.

Please do not be afraid to try a restored pipe. Many pipe collectors and pipe smokers actually prefer smoking a restored "presmoked" estate pipe, as it has already been broken in by it's former owner. If you have eaten in a restaurant, then you have used someone elses' fork. I have washed and sanitized your fork so to speak. Have the other sellers done that? I would be afraid to smoke a pipe that was not properly cleaned and sanitized.

I search both far and wide to find pipes that have been lightly smoked, carefully maintained with both a strong "eye appeal" and "collectability". I will not put my name behind junk.

Quality will be remembered long after the price is forgotten. I have the confidence to list my pipes without either a "Reserve" or "Buy it Now" price set. I believe in free markets and do not have the collector mentality that if I paid "X" amount for a pipe then I need at least "X" amount back for it. That is simply not a fair way to deal in a truly free market. I start my listings at one cent, and let the high bidder determine the fair selling price for my pipes. Most of my pipes end up selling for a higher price than my competition. The reason for this is that my many loyal and repeat bidders and auction winners know and appreciate the quality of my auction offerings, along with the value of my service. They are among the most astute and knowledgeable pipe collectors in the world. Collectively, they know fair value. To dictate that value with "Reserve" or "Buy it Now" pricing would be an insult to them.
